Greece is catchy and it'll do well, but it's trying to be all the last few winners at once (except Lordi --shame), with the Greek dancing and the "Wild Dances" stuff. I know - I was expecting more metal this year! I'm also really looking forward to hearing Turkey's song. Just the title sounds promising.

Let me present the Norwegian contribution. I don't do it with pride because she shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the English language. There's also some Spanish in there, and even though I don't speak Spanish, I bet she's raping that language as well. I guess it's catchy in a way, but meh. I do love this contest though, and bashing it is half the fun!

How did Guri Schanke win in Norway anyway? Jenny Jenssen was way more fun. Jannicke Abrahamsen was better too.
I have no hope for Sweden this year. I don't like the Ark, Andreas Johnson, or Måns Zelmerlöw.
I like "I Love You Mi Vida." And it's written by a Swede (same as "Ven a bailar conmigo")!

What the heck happened to Andreas Johnson?? I wasn't ever a big fan, but it used to be better than that. The Ark at least has almost the perfect Eurovision sound. If that's a compliment or not, I'm not sure Måns really looks uncomfortable with that song, and I understand it perfectly. I agree with you, though, Jenny Jensen should've won if not for other reasons than that she sings in Norwegian, and because the song is so perfectly annoying

Oxynia, I'm not impressed either, but from the three songs we had to choose it was the best song. Well Tamtas was good too but her live performance was really bad an hey at least Sarbel looked like he enjoyed what he was doing. Unlike Dantis the Botox victim. There's still hope that Sweden and Turkey'll be good: even Sweden's worst entries are usually better than 50% of the rest; and I've been chair-dancing all week to "Cakkidi" by this year's Turkish singer which I mistook for their entry --if the actual entry's like this, they should walk it. I mistook it too - was really disappointed that it wasn't the entry song.

I do love this contest though, and bashing it is half the fun! Ha, yes it is!! ;D Tonight German viewers choose the entry for this year's contest. That show alone will be trashy enough so I'll def. be watching. ETA: well, turns out I was totally wrong, Monrose didn't win, Roger Cicero, a Jazz singer won the preselection! He's a cutie and the song is nice but...he sings in German. Yes, I bitched about the ESC singers not singing in their native languages anymore but does it have to be our entry? Gah. I'm guessing zero points for Deutschland...again.

I suppose that it's a cute sounding song, but if you look at the lyrics (and I am only looking at an English translation, so the actual lyrics could be worse or better, I don't know) it's kind of sexist. For that I hope it ends up last place. But I have different tastes than everyone who actually votes so by that logic it will be top ten.

Goggle, I understand how in a rough translation the lyrics would come across as sexist, but it's actually more of a tongue-in-cheek song about how men always completely fall for women and let their actions totally dictate by their dicks. It may be interpreted as sexist towards men, but not towards women I think. But yeah, translating those lyrics is impossible (I could do it, theoretically) because the meaning gets lost. The Monrose girls looked really disappointed, they have a huge fan following but I guess all their young fans were watching Germany's Next Top Model which also aired tonight.

I think the Scooch entry qualifies for the horrible-bad category. How they managed to drag up some Steps wannabes (and why were there any to begin with?) from the beginning of the millenium i'm not sure. I wonder if they'd be allowed to say something like "Something to suck on for landing, sir" on the broadcast, though. I actually like the Big Brovaz entry as a real song, but I can't see it doing well on Eurovision.

I wonder if they'd be allowed to say something like "Something to suck on for landing, sir" on the broadcast, though. Didn't Silvia Night of Iceland say something about a golden shower last year? If that was allowed then I think this would be allowed. But I agree, Scooch is horrible-bad. So how about Turkey's song? It does sound similar to his other song that mutley posted the video of.
