Where's your sense of patriotism?! Israel really sucked. "POSH DE BOTTON! POSH DE BOTTON!"

Where's your sense of patriotism?! C'mon, you know the only reason that song won was because Guri Schanke was on Let's Dance. Are you gonna tell me you honestly like it? Fortunately, I'm half Finnish, and I love the Finnish song. And The Ark is one of my favourite bands. Go Finland and Sweden!

Voting for the semi is going on now! I can't predict who will qualify for the final, but I don't really care as long as it's not Latvia.

Good, good. Then I shall let you live. The last time Norway had a great song in the ESC was, IMO, in 1995, when we won. And the Norwegian finals almost always suck. Hard. I wish I could root for Norway, but I can't. I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome of the semi-final. None of the songs I hated are going to the final.

Unfortunately, Latvia is my least favorite song this year, but I accepted from the beginning that it would qualify, so it hurts less. Hungary on the other hand, I didn't expect and I am annoyed.

Unfortunately, Latvia is my least favorite song this year, but I accepted from the beginning that it would qualify, so it hurts less. Me too, but while watching the semi, I was still going "Shit, please don't let this win!" I'm hoping that Germany'll steal its "mum" votes and Slovenia its opera ones, but who knows... The semi's just been on here, and I'm more or less happy with the ones that got through (go Georgia, Hungary and Moldova!). But Denmark and Austria were suprisingly good, Poland was robbed, FYROM was incredibly boring, and as much as I love the Turkish song, the performance was shocking --really messy choreography and terrible outfits and hair. It's the opposite of last year, when they gave a great performance of an ordinary song. ETA: tecloa, I know what you mean --ever since the free language rule came in, the conflict between good music/crappy lyrics has been an occupational hazard for the Eurovision fan! BTW, was it just me, or did the Slovenian woman's outfit have shades of Ivy/Shelftits? She had a annoyingly smug face as well (/petty) ;D .

Everyone on the internets is worried and convinced that Ukraine will win. I admit that I could probably handle Latvia winning better than Ukraine winning, because while I hate Ukraine's song because it's childish and terrible, I hate Latvia's only because it is an average song that panders to the mothers and grandmothers, who if they like opera should be voting for Slovenia, or if they like classy male vocalists should vote for Germany. But, it's still a "real song."
I think Shelfy would like to wear Alenka's dress, but I don't think she gave smug faces. If anything she looked like she was having fun. I didn't think it would do all that well before, but now I think it could go top 5 (watch me be wrong).
Final starts in 15 minutes!

I don't understand the appeal of the Serbian entry but it's better than Ukraine so I'm happy with the results so far. From pure patriotism, I'm glad to see Greece doing so well.

Aww, we were very disappointed for Roger Cicero but I can see why his song wasn't all that appealing for a European-wide audience. But he's such a cutie with a great voice, I wish he'd done better. I thought Serbia sucked ass. Sorry, I didn't like that at all. My friends and I were cheering for Ukraine and Greece. I thought the Greek entry was much better than the Turkish one (similar themes) so I don't get why Turkey scored more points. And oh my God, that host (Mikko Leppilampi?) was the cutest one ever! Where has he been all my life? I hated the backstage host who just asked everyone to tell her how beautiful she was (which she wasn't). She totally brought in a trash factor that was so unnecessary because I thought Finnland did quite a good job hosting the show. Congrats on shortening the whole points thing which is my favourite part but usually way too long. I like the way they did it this year, it'll be done again next year. Much smarter system. And of course, on my way home while I was listening to the radio I already heard people calling for a new voting system that prevents all the south-eastern European countries from giving each other the highest points. Oh who cares? For God's sake, Finnland won last year which as far as I know isn't surrounded by Serbia, Albania, Montenegro, Macedonia etc.
