Like I said in the Buffy thread I think ATS is the most underrated show ever. I personally don't think it ever jumped the shark. Sure there were some things I didn't care for but overall it remained a solid show to the very end. I agree. When it was on, it was one of the best shows on TV. Angel = Batman--except Batman's not a vampire.

Don't get me started on Fred. Annoying little hick.
I stopped watching after Connor got Rapid Aging Syndrome. Everything that came after that sucked. Big time. Except Puppet Angel. Oh, how I adore thee, Puppet Angel.
And wasn't Grog (Grug? Groog? What the hell was his name?) a hottie? I wanted Cordy to stay in Pylea forever and just have hot children with His Hotness. Yum.

I really didn't care much for season 5. It wasn't awful by a long shot but I was really annoyed by Spike's presence. I got my fill of Spike on Buffy and I was just plain sick of him. I think he would have worked alot better as a recurring character. He was just too obnoxious and I don't even think James Marsters acting was as good as it was on Buffy. Yep. It just felt like Spike was shoe-horned in where he didn't belong, taking away screentime/storylines from Wes and Gunn. I loved Spike/Marsters on Buffy seasons 2-very early 6, but it did get to be just too much Spike. That said, I thought the last episodes of S5 were great and the ending was one of the most fitting, appropriate endings ever ("Let's get to work."--cut to black). Puppet Angel was awesome, though--it was worth watching Season 5 just for that episode. Remember the part when Nina-the-wolf-girl attacks Puppet Angel and he stumbles out to Lorne in the hallway, stuffing falling out of him. And Lorne responds, very sincerely: "My little prince!!! Is there a Gepetto in the house??!!" Cracks me up. I loved Doyle and wish we'd gotten to see the character develop over more episodes. He had nice chemistry with Cordelia, too, and it would have been cute to see them together. So sad about Glenn Quinn. Wes was my favorite character--what an amazing arc he had over the course of the show. I never could have imagined the changes he underwent and his development as a character. Alexis did such a fantastic job. Possibly even funnier than Puppet Angel and "Mandy": Dancing with Angel and Wesley![/color]

Ooh, thank you for that link! That episode was one of the worst ever, but that 40 seconds makes it all worth the agony. My toddler is sitting in my lap grooving to the music, too, so I've just watched it at least 5 times in a row.

Another huge fan of Puppet Angel. I own both Puppet Angel and Battle-Scarred Puppet Angel (with removable nose!)
But my true love was always Lindsay. The episode where he returned in Season 5? I kept dozing off during the Angel/Spike fight over the cup of Mountain Dew, but when they started the scene with Eve, I woke up, and went from flat on my back to crouching in front of my TV (at the foot of the bed). I might actually have kissed the TV, I was so damned excited.
(And Angel and Wesley "dancing" will never not be hysterical.)

Oh, Lindsey...I loved that evil-smarmy-hot Tiny Texan. Eve was annoying, but the return of Lindsey made it all worth it. Hee--you're welcome, thingamajig! The music is so hilariously perfect. Angel's little "clap-clap" move always gets me. Good to hear you're starting your little one early on the joys of Angel-Wes spaz dancing. ;D I kept dozing off during the Angel/Spike fight over the cup of Mountain Dew. Too funny!

I liked this show better than Buffy. Lindsey's "evil hand" speech is a great tv moment, as is the puppet show and the Pylea shows. The dance Lorne's brother does is hilarious.
To this day I use that as an excuse. "Cupcake, what are you doing." "Sorry, sorry. Evil hand issues."

More love for this ep. I loved when Nina asked him if he was okay and he said: "Well, I'm made of felt...and by dose cobes off." When he pulled of his little nose and you could tell that DB was holding his nose when he looped those lines--bwah! ;D

Yeah, except for being sick to death of Spike (Buffy watcher over here, too), I loved the finale. Although they ended it with Gunn bleeding profusely. *grimaces greatly* Even though I hate that he got neutered at the hands of Fred, I still loved me some Gunn.

I know there isn't a lot of love for the baby storyline, but when Darla gave birth to the baby it was a fantastic moment of television. I love the way the ashes fell and then there is just this baby, with Holtz standing there.
