There's a new show on NBC this fall called Life with my hunkiest favorite British actor guy, Damian Lewis -- LINK -- hopefully it's good as I'd love a reason to see him every week. For those of you who don't know who he is, he was in Band of Brothers and The Forsyte Saga and has that kind of sexiness that just sneaks up on you and WHAM you're hooked. ETA: Oooh, it has Adam Arkin and Robin Weigart (Calamity Jane from Deadwood)!!! The Director/Executive Producer is David Semel of Heroes. Watch some of the clips, it looks very quirky and good.

Damn. I thought this was the thread where one found the meaning to the title. That would be worth watching!! Then again, so is Damien Lewis!

Dick Winters AND Calamity Jane?! I'd be there even if the clips didn't look so good. Of course, I'm just setting myself up to get all attached, at which point it'll be cancelled 5 episodes in and replaced by something like "Who Wants To Dance With and Date My Dad's Pimped Out 5th Grader" or some such nonsense.

I saw that one of the producers of Kidnapped was on it and I loved that show, which was cancelled and of course, never resolved. It looks quirky and could possibly be good. Sometimes great casting can overcome meh writing. I loved Wonderfalls, too, so it's gone. And Firefly. Sigh. They were replaced on Fox by "When Midgets Attack."

Attack midgets? Are you serious? I watched Kidnapped, too. Now, THAT was a sudden death cancellation if ever there was. One week you see it, next you don't. I actually didn't even like it that much but it would've been nice to find out how (because you just knew he would) the kid got free.
Apparently Jericho just bit the dust, too. Of course, that one was the producers' own damn fault. You really can't spend the first half of the first season going at a snail's pace, then take a two-month break before coming back with actual interesting episodes and expect to hang on to an audience. What the HELL were they thinking?
I'm looking forward to Life but will try very hard not to get too attached. Sigh. Still heartbroken over Deadwood Come to think of it, the cast of Jericho had at least three Deadwood refugees. Hope Calamity fares better.
You know, a thread to track cancellations would be helpful since shows come and go so quickly it's getting hard to tell the napping from the stone cold dead.

Jericho is gone? How are we going to figure out what happened? Damn. Well, I was so pissed off that they killed my favorite character that I didn't want to watch it anymore. No more Major Dad then no more Miss Grumpy.
I LOVE seeing Deadwood people show up on other shows and I'm a huge fan of Robin Weigart and I loved seeing "Charley Utter" on CSI even if he was a nut.
I've noticed a lot of Deadwood refugees on Lost, too. Robin Weigart is Juliet's sister, Joanie Stubbs and Trixie as Others.

Yeah, gonebut this is the closest I could come to finding official word. It looks as if CBS is borrowing HBO's carrot/pacifier promise of a limited extension to 'wrap things up'. Suuuuure. I don't watch Lost so I missed Joanie Stubbs, darn it! I did catch a snippet of Trixie either a Cold Case or Without A Trace. I get those two confused. I'm right there with you on Major Dad. I felt a little sorry for the guy going from DW (okay, yeah, I'm a leeetle obsessed with Al and the Gang...lol) to a lukewarm network series, but he and Pamela Reed really added substance(And she didn't get there in time to say "goodbye", awww). I loved his line about going to war with the town that had the nearest Costco. Did you catch Brom Garret as the power-mad Mayor of said town, or Adams lookin' hotter than ever in a tight white t-shirt?? Oh, sorry. This is the Life thread, isn't it? Hee. Anyway, it looks promising, but just from the clips it sadly appears his partner was cast in the interest of eye-candy. Too bad. At least her clothes seemed to fit and shampoo is included on her shopping list /gratuitous slap at poor Jesse L. greasy mannequin/. I found it a little strange that, in one of the clips linked above, Damien Lewis was talking about his character in his character's accent, or Dick Winters' accent, rather than his own English one. I found it even stranger how he doesn't seem to have aged a day since BOB. Go on with your bad self and your impressive understanding of the importance of sunblock, Mr. L. Here's hoping you replace the vile Caruso as America's crime-solving Ginger Kid of choice and send him back to the late shift at the ham factory where he belongs. ETA: linkies baffle me.

That paragraph is a beautiful thing! I found it odd that he wasn't using his own accent either. I wonder if he is the type that stays in character. I remember hearing that Rene Zellwegger used her British accent all the time when preparing for Bridget Jones. Of course that only made me hate her a little more.
I agree that Pamela Reed and Gerald McRainey rocked those roles on Jericho. They were the best characters on the show. I personally HATED the stupid gov't agent. OMG, she was a cow. Why would that cute, nice guy like her? I guess that the apocalypse cut down on female partners.
I hope that Robin Weigart has a substantial role in Life. I love seeing her in anything but I want to see lots of her. She showed up a little in Without a Trace or Cold Case (why can't I keep those shows apart in my mind?), but not enough for me.
