It is kinda weirdly transfixing. It's so odd to watch the part where they watch a video and go "Again! Again!" and think, "Yeah, I could stand to watch that video again. Let's do this."

I forgot they showed the videos twice. Like anyone really needs to watch British toddlers doing somersaults more than once? Or were they that desperate for stuff to pad out the show?
Wasn't it also filmed in super-slow mo and then sped up or something?

Apparently toddlers love that kind of repetition (considering how many times I've read Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You? in the past month, I can buy that). If I'm stuck watching the show with my daughter, though, I bleep-bloop through the repeated parts.

Yes, repetition is very important for early learning. It is also a leading cause of insanity in parents. Now, y'all want a REAL mind trip, check out BoohBah. It's made by the Teletubby folks and it's geared toward an even younger demographic. I understand it's very popular viewing at college parties with large quantities of hallucinogenics.

Oh God, those damn BoohBahs are banned from my house. Can't stand them!
Ha, no kidding! ("Honey, you have 100 other books. Can't Mr. Brown take a break today?" "No, moo moo boom boom knock knock!")
An episode of Tubbies with Tinky Winky carrying a purse and wearing a skirt was on the other day. Ha. The thing is, Tinky Winky didn't even want to wear the skirt at first, so at the very least he's a reluctant alien drag queen.

Rest assured, the investigative research done by the Polish has concluded that there is no homosexual agenda going on. So Tinky Winky can happily carry his purse around and keep his subversive symbol on the top of his head. Snort.

Oh God, those damn BoohBahs are banned from my house. Can't stand them! Those things are scary! The first time I saw them, while I was flippin' through one morning, I thought someone had slipped drugs into my food!

The weirdest thing about the BoohBahs are the storytimes with those weird-ass people running around, "Mrs Lady.......Mr Man........" LilB loved them though for a brief period around 2 and a half.

I love the Boohbahs. Never watched an episode though. A couple years ago, on another message board I go to with a bunch of teens/twentysomethings, someone posted a link to their website and almost all of us were completely riveted. I played with their little interactive dance thingy for a couple hours. ETA: A link. My favorite is the little blue one who likes to fart as he flies across the screen. EATA: I'm so disappointed that they changed the song and dance game. It used to be really insane. Sparkly, swirly background, spinning lights and you get them all to do different moves or sync them up. Completely insane.
