Has anyone bothered watching this? They seem to be having a lot of problems. An episode disappeared, the hostess was inexplicably changed after the first week and the new one is reviled, and ratings are terrible.
I think it's disappointing to find out that the new generation of young filmmakers doesn't seem to have any fresh ideas.

Poop, pee and farts. Is this Next Nickelodean Writer or what? God that hostess is crap on a stick. She made me miss Secrest. SECREST?!?!?!?
And out of all the final 2 pairings the wrong freaking one went home each time!?
I also don't think special effects dude is all that wonderful either. Seems to me that it's the usual Hollywood style over substance trick.

I had meant to watch this, but it sounds like I shouldn't bother. Have any of the films been any good so far?

So true that the wrong people went home. Marty's a little weasel but Kenny is scary. The look on his face while he was on stage reminded me of Ted Bundy. There were a couple of pretty good efforts as far as the one-minute films, but some were just awful. And all three of the most awful (in my opinion) stayed. The whole format of the show is just so terrible that it has to be seen to be believed.
You can see the films if you go to the official On the Lot website.

We really liked the first two episodes. Then they skipped an episode and started that awful "American Idol" format. It just doesn't work. The hostess sucks. We wanted to see more of what the contestants go through to make their films. It seems like the challenges have been heavily dependent on the directors' ability to write which I don't think should be a factor.
A lot of people at TWoP have been saying this show would work better with a Project Runway/Top Chef format, and I completely agree.
