Yeah! The "Spectacular" girls didn't know dick. To be honest a lot of the people are choking on really easy and what I thought were pretty well known pop culture questions.
But I imagine getting in front of that bright light and the crowd would impact your nerves.

I hated it when the "Spectacular" girls said 'they don't expect us to be smart because we're pretty'.
That pretty much signs your death warrant, don't it?
Or maybe I'm biased because the other team is called "Wocka Wocka".

Was I the only one annoyed by the Cheetarah team last year? I got so sick of them screaming and hollering after every question. One of them sat all right next to the guy from the other team who'd been eliminated(Dave, who I thought was pretty cute) and you could see that he was totally annoyed by that chick screaming in his ear. And I see they are now back as the reporters.
I didn't think they should have let that girl from Fragilay get the answer right in the Weird Al question when she said the answer was "Ridin" and the name of the song was "Ridin Dirty". That wasn't a complete answer. If they let them give half answers, that girl who answered "balls" instead of "brass balls" should have also gotten it right.
But yeah, a lot of teams seem to be tanking pretty fast it seems. It left me wondering how a lot of people made it through. I agree with others that Fragilay seemed to only really have one good player.
I am a geek, because when I watched the reruns of last year's show a couple of weeks ago, I looked some of the people up on myspace. Then I felt kind of pathetic for doing it. (of note: Jason Boegh of Boeghy is on there!) Did anyone else go to the WSoPC site and play the games? I was obsessed with it for about 2 days.
I would probably bomb if I were given any of the song lyrics categories. I barely ever know the answers to those.

I thought the same thing JDub! I've seen them let people squeak by with singular answers when the word should have been in plural and stuff like that. That shit wouldn't fly on Jeopardy! Fragilay got extremely lucky because only one girl really knew anything. The Saturday Night Live category was laughably easy. I mean, wasn't Wayne's World and "schwing" on pretty much everyone's radar? Especially someone claiming to know enough about pop-culture to go on a trivia show.

I agree, anyone who didn't know "Schwing!" has no business being on a pop culture show. That girl must have been in a coma throughout 1992.
I was disappointed that the Alec Baldwin 'balls' reference had to do with brass balls instead of schweddy ones. Heh.
I had to laugh during the Weird Al questions, especially "This Song Is Just Six Words Long". Damn, I loved that song when I was little; it was completely responsible for my mad crush on George Harrison. The video was totally trippy. I remember him walking on some clouds. And maybe there were animals.
All the Cheetara hate is making me smile, because my first reaction to the new season was, "Well at least we won't have the Screechy Sisters..." *facepalm*. Stupid post-game interviews. Actually, all the hate is reserved for the short one with the soccer-mom hair. Someone just needs to put tape over her mouth, like, yesterday.
The Wocka-Wockas won me over with the Best Team Name Ever.

Me too! I was sure that's what it was going to be!
As an old woman of 35, the contestant who said she wasn't alive when When Doves Cry came out made me both annoyed and feel old. But really, it's a famous Prince song! The 80s are making a comeback! How can you not know that song!!!

I haaaaaated Cheetara. They are so not worthy of that awesome name, the real Cheetara would make mincemeat out of them. I wa sso thrilled when they finally lost, I thought I'd never have to see them again. Little did I know...
Actually she wasn't really giving an answer, her team had already won that round and the host was just asking her if she knew it for the heck of it. They didn't get any credit for it though.

Or maybe I'm biased because the other team is called "Wocka Wocka". I liked Wocka Wocka! I liked the name They're Real and They're Spectacular, but the girls were irritating. I wonder if the teams are chosen on the basis of actual Pop Culture knowledge, personality/looks, or a combination of the two.
