Am I the only one watching this? I was a total junkie for it last season, and even did the online test for the current season (which totally jacked me over since I have a touchpad mouse slower than a centipede with a hundred broken legs). My sister and our best friend and I are convinced that we will try out next year if the auditions are in Portland.
Any thoughts? I am loving it so far. My pet peeve, however, is the ever-present "But I wasn't even BORN until (insert year here)" whine. Which, in my opinion, automatically revokes your pop-culture cred. How did you even get on the damn show, then? News flash: I wasn't born until 1979, but can still spout off Blondie's "Rapture" without blinking.
I do admit that I would be a vortex of suck at any categories involving Lost, Star Wars, Harry Potter, scary movies, or rap songs. That's why I'm glad there are teams. TV Catchphrases? Anything involving reality TV? Academy Award winners? 80s pop lyrics? I'm your girl. Hee.
I feel bad for those contestants who give partially correct responses, and then have their responses stolen by the opposing teams.
One of the most fun parts of this show is seeing the silly, awesome, and just plain stupid team names. Then again, I'm still puzzling over the names Cheetara and El Chupacabra from last year. Heh.

I am intensely angry that I keep missing the auditions for this considering they've done them in Chicago for the past two years. How do I miss this? I even have my team name picked out.
I would rock at movies, most 80s music and any sort of TV. I would suck at rap and some of the weirder scifi.
I also hate the "I wasn't born yet!" There was a girl who skipped a question where they give you a song lyric and she had no idea what song it was because she was like "1981? I wasn't born yet!" Grrr. The damn song was "When Doves Cry" How can you even remotely consider yourself a pop fiction fan and not know When Doves Cry?! I weep for our nation's future if this is the next generation of pop culture expert.

My sister was supposed to keep track of the test dates and let me know. She didn't. Bitch. I'm forming my own team!
I would rock at anything Simpsons related, hair metal, John Hughes movies. Sports and rap would doom me.
I think the younger contestants just never do as well (see aforementioned "I wasn't born yet!") That's why every time I play Simpsons trivia with my friend who's 10 years younger than me, I win in a landslide.

I was rockin' this as I watched it today. No way I could go wrong...at all. I'm a huge pop culture junkie.
Greecies wanna form a team next year? Cause if so, I should be all over it.

I'm watching - I love this stuff.
I've also been trying to go online and play (nerd alert) but the site isn't working very well.

I would gladly form together with any other trivia lovin' Chicagoans but I get to pick the team name. I just really think "Edna's Edibles" would be an awesome name. And we could all wear Eastland uniforms.

LOVE ALL THINGS TRIVIA- count me in!
I really enjoyed this show last season, and would love to form a team with any other Greecies in the Southwest. I didn't realize it was back, but will start looking for it.
Whenever I hear the "I wasn't even born yet!" whine of the North American Trivia Loser, I politely inform them that I wasn't born when Beethoven was working, but I am at least familiar with his work.

Hee, I say the same thing, but just replace "Beethoven" with "The Beatles". In other pop-culture related news, the word "Badonkadonk" will forever crack me up. Just sayin'.

I was just thinking today about not only forming a Greecie team, but holding a Greecie tournament so that we could send in the uber team. Total Greecie Domination!
ETA: These are things I think about whilst feeding a screaming infant and watching VH1 on TiVo.

Oh God, the "I wasn't born yet!" excuse just kills me. I was born in 1982 as well girly and I still know the words to When Doves Cry. Idiot.
