I thought Glen was going to turn out okay when he defended Sally against the guy who got all gross on her because she wouldn't have sex with him. But no, he's still Creepy Glen, with Creepy Betty, and their Creepy Inappropriate Relationship.
"He said a four letter that starts with F! If you can imagine such a thing!" Pete is hilarious.
Then Peggy "Why don't YOU write down all your dreams so I can shit on them." Oh, Peggy. Don was just looking for answers for the homework assignment Roger gave him and for his own life.
I'm afraid we won't see much of Sally unless they jump ahead a few months. But at least we got some classic Sally side-eye.

Glen accomplished something no other performer in history has: he was out acted by January Jones.

It says something that Peggy was the only one who had any idea of what she wanted for the future. I was totally team Joan until she threw Kevin away for a man she just met! Don's an ass. I can't believe that ad guy used the same line that Don did. How stupid! He deserved to be fired. I think Joan just said that to show Bruce Greenwood how ridiculous he was being about her having a kid. As soon as she said she chose him over her son, he was all, "Hey, hey, I never said to do that!" Matthis is Frasier's kid. Yeah her delivery threw me. After her "you ruined my life" outburst I wasn't really sure if she was ready to send Kevin away or not. We haven't really seen a lot of scenes of her bonding with him.

I swear I could hear 'Mrs. Robinson' playing in the background when Glen and Betty were in the kitchen.
I want to see Joan hook up with Captain Pike and more of Pete's stylish wardrobe.

Speaking of the scene in the kitchen, one of my favorite period details from the episode was when Betty threw the toy gun in the garbage can, which had a paper sack liner. Just the other day I had been wondering why I don't remember a build of paper grocery bags when I was younger like I have plastic bags, and then I recalled the kitchen garbage can. And also more groceries fit into paper than plastic, but that is less relevant.

So, Mad Men, anyone? I lol'd at the Scottish clan feud although I was bracing for some news that Tammy was delayed somehow. It was a nice twist. The stuff about the merger was boring, although when what's his face interrupted Don's presentation, I couldn't shake the idea that he was being framed as a devil because of the red, pointy painting behind him.
Otherwise it was a watch-checker from the outset, especially with the messages from Diana.
ETA: I don't think we will Sal again, although it would be nice. Various media posts are pointing to Peggy's emotional moment, but ugggghh WE KNOW. And it was dragged out, I thought. Maybe I'm just salty, but there are three more episodes and I just feel like I'm waiting for it to wrap up.

I thought it was the best episode of the season so far (which isn't saying much, but at least there was some action). I love that the partners were incapable of pitching the McCann takeover to their own employees.
It looks like these characters are headed in very different directions. Sad for Joan especially. She knows they'll never take her seriously, so she'll probably marry this rich dude and end up a housewife.
Great scene between Peggy and Stan.

I felt bad for Joan. Lord knows she's not perfect, but it's sad that she won't be taken seriously in the workplace, yet Peggy's agent thinks McCann will be perfect for her. Joan saved SCDP a couple of times with her wizardary, and she knows the business. Yet, because of her looks, she just gets patted on the head. I wonder if she ends up going out to California (or is that no longer an option)? I am happy that she's found love. I think that was important to her. She wanted both.
I also felt sorry for Trudy. She thought Connecticut would be perfect for her, and now she's basically by herself. I'm not up on my 1971 NYC history, but was it a "sewer" back then? Surely with Pete's money, Trudy and Tammy could live a nice life. Fun fact: the MacDonald/Campbell feud is a real thing!
I could be wrong, but isn't Peggy already making about $100K/year (in today's money)? Peggy was based on Mary Wells Lawrence- who actually worked at McCann before starting her own agency. With her lower east side apartment building, she might end up being richer than Joan! I also liked that she acknowledged she had a baby and gave him up. And you could tell that she does think about him from time to time.
I really like Peggy and Stan together. I'm sure it wouldin't work out romantically, but I really like their friendship. They are most definitely work mates. Although it's a different dynamic from Don, I think it feeds her creativity as well (and it's less toxic).
One blogger brought up an interesting point. Don's non-compete is for Donald Draper. I wonder if he goes to California as Dick Whitman?
I can't believe its over on May 17th.
