So I heard over the weekend he got whacked over the head with a bottle by some nut. Anyone know the full story on what happened?

From CNN: I would think an A-lister like DiCaprio wouldn't have to hang around scum like Solomon. Can't he rent out the Mercer and cover himself in hookers and blow 24/7?

I think the article posted above tells the story fairly well.
I'm kinda meh about Leo. He doesn't really drive me to a movie, though I thought he was decent in The Aviator. Problem is, he's a grown up now but still looks like a little boy. Its harder to take him seriously.

I totally get the confusion over whether he's good-looking or not. I see one picture of him and think, "Hmm, cute." I see another and think, "What's the big deal supposed to be?" But there were three moments in Titanic that made my heart flip a little:
1) The first time you see him (through Rose's flash-back): She's in the present telling about how he drew her portrait and for a split second as she's talking you see him flicking his eyes from the drawing pad to her face, and his eyes are just so alive and loving!
2) During the height of the disaster when he's determined to get her out alive and grabs and hugs her. He stares briefly over her shoulder with such a fierce look of resolve that you just know he'll save her, one way or another.
3) That moment when he briefly thinks they can both stay on top of that door that's floating in the water, then realizes it will only hold one, and lets her have it. You can see it in his eyes that he's aware that he's pretty much sentenced himself to death, but is willing to do it, for her.
Oh, god, I sound like a 14-year old Leo-lovin' bimbo! But I loved him in that movie! I think he was perfect for it.
And the puffiness? I get the feeling he shapes up for movies and in between lets himself go. Russell Crowe is like that. And I don't get it, because wouldn't it be easier to maintain your fitness level rather than have to start over each time you've got a project?

I've always liked him. I think it's left over Titanic fangirliness. Totally agree with Bonsai's whole post. Those three moments are the height of Leo-perfection.
A few weeks back, I watched Titanic all the way through for the first time since it was in theaters and I bawled like a baby (it's starts out as the sniffles and turns into a full blown cry fest by the time Rose meets Jack on the stairs at the very end). For me, it the movie holds up really well. Leo was very good in it and I don't think got enough credit for what he did with the "Jack" character. I think I need to watch it again tonight.

I agree with Bonsai's post as well, but for me it's love left over from What's Eating Gibert Grape. He was amazing in that movie. And I did love his expression in Romeo + Juliet right after he kills Tybalt. The look on his face changes so smoothly from rage to satisfaction that he has aventged Mercutio to the understanding of what he has done and how it will affect Juliet. Nice moment. I tend to like his work. He seems to really put an effort into what he does rather than coast on his image and/or popularity.

In other news... Leo gets assaulted.[/color] I guess that's what you get for hanging with the likes of Rick Solomon.

None of the articles posted mention Gisele being at the party. The article that borborygmus posted Saturday on page 2 seems to have the most details about the incident.
