Didn't see a thread on Canada's Worst Driver - hoping other people are watching this show.

I am loving this season so far. The people are annoying, but some are really entertaining.

Oh man, it's started? Gotta update my DVR to catch one of the eleventy zillion reruns they always show. I love the 'Canada's worst...' series, although I found the last Canada's Worst Handyman to be pure reality show fakery - one of the contestants had a blog, and at least according to him, a lot of the time they weren't given complete directions, they were never given enough time for projects, and they had them operating on almost no sleep, so it's not that suprising that they sucked.

Oh, man! What channel is this on? Two years ago, TTMR & I were traveling in Australia and caught Australia's Worst Driver. It was soooo entertaining!

It's Discovery Canada - I'm really surprised that the US Discovery hasn't done their own version of worst driver/worst handyman, they've got to be fairly cheap to produce since IIRC there's no big prize at the end.

I'm of two minds about shows like this. I mean, who doesn't like to watch idiots make fools of themselves? But... do shows like this normalize bad/stupid behaviour which should really be reviled?

Asks the guy who watches I Love New York and America's Most Smartest Model religiously.

I don't really think the show normalizes the bad/stupid behaviour - mainly because the way they profile each "contestant" - I look at them and all I see is a bunch of dumbasses - and I laugh and laugh at the stupidity. I think the point is basically to make fun of them.

Like the woman who can't driving without getting nervous and puking. Ha. That shit cracked me up. Why are these people on the road? If I were a bad driver, I'd get off the bloody road and take some public transportation!

And they had them driving around in a cool little 5.0L Mustang - I used to have one of those and winced every time they hit it. I like that this season they're going to teach them how to do "tricks" - that should be fun to watch.

There seem to be types of drivers on this show. There is the one who laughs and thinks its a lark driving, one who is terrified of driving. I watch this to feel better about my driving.

and there's always the guy who thinks the faster he drives, the better he drives. I always want to punch that guy.

Ooh, and don't forget the abusive spouses who won't stop yelling! Always good for a laugh...
