The misheard lyric that someone posted at The Other Place that still makes me laugh months later is "I'm the King, I wish for bacon", misheard to the tune of "I'm the King of wishful thinking."
In the Kelly Clarkson song Since You've Been Gone , I was convinced she was singing "I canNOT breathe for the first time." This does not fit the rest of the song at all, and I was so confused until I looked up the real lyrics. She can breathe for the first time, y'all.

A set of lyrics that I have misheard in the past was for the remake of "If You Don't Know Me By Now" by Simply Red. When I heard this song when it was a hit (1989), I always thought they were saying
I come home a little late at night 'Cause we only have black children
When I heard the original about six years later, I discovered it was
I come home a little late at night 'Cause we only act like children
I still sing it the way that I thought it was, because it just sounds so silly.

There was a tune from about 1966 by Lou Christie called Two Faces Have I, which my 7 year old self misheard (and continues to mishear) as Do Vases Have Eyes?

A friend of mine - we would have been in the 5th grade at the time - thought George Harrison's "I Got My Mind Set on You" was "Watch out, I might sit on you." Since then, that's how I hear the lyrics. Every single time.

This one is very embarrassing.
Your love life's dee away! Your love life's DOA
Yeah...
It's made worse because I figured out that they weren't singing "dee away!" while watching an episode of ER.

You know that cheesy christmas song by Wham? I used to think that George Michael sang;
With a note, saying I love you, Amanda
When really, he's singing:
With a note, saying I love you, I meant it

When I was little the Phil Collins version of "Can't Hurry Love" was really popular, and my sister and I thought he was singing "Kangorilla," like a mixture of the words Kangaroo and Gorilla. And since the song is being sung to an individual, we thought there was someone actually named Kangorilla somewhere.

bbug, that reminds me when I was young, I thought the song "Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport" was "Tymie Kangaroo, Down Sport!" i.e. a Kangaroo named "Tymie" who was being admonished, "Down, Sport, down!"

More misheard lyrics from me:
In the Phil Collins song One More night, the part where he sings
And if you sail away I will follow you
I always thought it was
And if you say no way I will fondle you
Also, with Broken Wings where the singer said "The book of love will open up and let us in", I thought he said "The book of love will open up and letter 'C'".
