I can't stop listening to I'm Sexy and I Know It by LMFAO. Send help. I feel ya. I am too old to be liking this compared to the audience at the shows, and yet, screw it. I like catchy terrible music, and I even bought sold gold shiny leggings specifically for their show. I'll see myself out.

I think I might actually prefer Jimmy Fallon (as Neil Young) and Bruce Springsteen's version though....

Please save me from Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe."

Oh yeah. The lyrics make her sound like she is crazy and he's trying to blow her off because he can sense the crazy. But that song is addicting! I listen when it comes on. Hah.

Right now you can't turn on the radio here without hearing "We Are Young" by fun. , and I was a little sick of it after only three or four weeks. But the other night, the entire choir department of ds1's high school (350+ kids!), led by the graduating seniors, sang that song and there wasn't a dry eye in the house among the parents. There were kids lining the aisles, singing and dancing, with the seniors onstage with their arms around each other--I can't begin to describe the energy in that room! I will always remember that wonderful moment whenever I hear that song from now on.

Hah. That is cute. But man, I HATE THAT SONG. Gah!
My most memorable experience with that tune was being at a party where I was the oldest by about 10 years (and I felt like it). So whenever I hear it, I think about how I am totally not young anymore. Thirty-three is still sort of kinda young, right? Right??!!

Psst, I think divasahm is talking about the most recent We Are Young song, not the one by Pat Benatar, if that's what you're referring to ... ?
I know what you mean, divasahm - I used to have no liking whatsoever for that corny old song Paper Moon until I heard my daughters' choir sing it. Their high, sweet voices just made that song for me, and they all looked so lovely. *sniffle*

It pains me to admit this. I love Starships by (ugh!) Nicki Minaj. Maybe because the 12-year-old inside me loves hearing the distorted yet very clear "muthafucka" in the chorus.

Yes, I am also talking about the most recent "We Are Young" song. It's by a band called Fun. I do not have fun when it's on the radio on continual loop. And the chorus makes me feel old, especially when a 22-year-old sings it at me at a party... where I'm the oldest by about a decade, hah. I've got nothing against Pat Benatar's "Love is a Battlefield." I loved that song when I was a kid.

Am I the the only one who during "Love is a Battlefield" during the first few beats before Benatar's voice kicks in, stars going "You leave this house right now!" like in the video?
