The Bravery is very much dirtier version of The Killers. Not a bad thing at all, really. And the lead singer thinks he's Morrissey. Fronting New Order, no less.

I'm thinking you didn't mean that as a compliment, but now I really want to hear The Bravery. Sounds like my cup o'tea. I enjoy The Killers, and New Order kicked ten kinds of ass.

Actually, I did, in a way. The Bravery have been compared to New Order - my second favorite band. And the lead singer does look like Morrissey - so it totally tickled me. (Morrissey and Johnny Marr hating each other now, and Bernard Sumner doing Electronic with Marr - hee hee.)

I always thought that Hella Good by No Doubt sounded a lot like Billy Jean in the beginning. Seriously, tell me I am not the only one.

And I finally heard a She Wants Revenge song yesterday, and you guys weren't kidding! I totally thought I was hearing Joy Division.

I think SWR is more danceable than Interpol- with a bit of a warmer and sexier sound, but yeah, if I didn't know any better I'd think it was the next Interpol album. I got into Interpol only because they sound like Joy Division.
When The Killers first came out with 'Somebody Told Me" I thought they were emulating the Psychedelic Furs.

Also Franz Ferdinand's Take Me Out reminds me of a Phil Collins song that I do not know the title of. I think at the end of the chorus, he says something that sounds like " your favorite song!"

Franz totally rips off the Stones' "Miss You" on their song "I'm Your Villian."

Oasis rips off (Oasis? ripping off? never!) Paint It Black as well as Proud Mary (the Ike/Tina version) in "The Meaning Of Soul."

Don't forget all of the Beatles (and John Lennon) songs - oh hell, their entire sound - that Oasis ripped off, thanks to the Liam's obsession. Everytime I hear the opening shords of "Don't Look Back in Anger" I think it's Lennon's "Imagine". It's so blatant.
I always hated Oasis. Even when I've liked some of their songs, I've still hated Oasis.
