I just drooled all over myself because of that first photo. Gawd, he is hot.

I can't help but like him. I have a weakness for British men in general and football players in general.

A few years ago I watched a documentary about him and his wife (I really, really, really don't like her), and I thought he came off as pretty cute, while she struck me as a bitch.
In one segment they were sitting in the back of a limo or something, and he started to say something along the lines of "I know I'm not the smartest guy on earth, I don't have a lot of education" etc, and clearly he was getting somewhere. But she interrupted him in this weird way, telling him not to say that about himself. It didn't seem like she said it for his sake, but because she was afraid people were going to think less of them because of it. At least he tried to be honest.

He's attractive, but he doesn't really do it for me. And that voice. *shudder* And the bling. *shudder* I remember watching a post-game press conference during the last Eurpean Championship and being amazed at how HUGE the diamond studs in his ears were.

I'll stick with the Italian soccer players. For one thing, I prefer darker coloring. Beckham's blondness doesn't do it for me. For another thing, my Italian isn't good enough for me to recognize when a player sounds really stupid when he's talking. Although some of them are such bricks that even my limited Italian can understand.

Anyone see him on Today this morning? They had him show some kids how to kick a soccer ball and he was incredibly sweet and attentive to them.

That being said, I couldn't help but notice that his wife has him so brainwashed on the famewhore front. He admitted that he cannot go anywhere or do anything in any other country in the world but the U.S. w/out a throng of people harassing him. Then he went on to say it is getting "better" for him in the U.S. in that he is recognized more.

How in the world is this "better"? I would have thought he'd like coming to the this country to enjoy some peace and anonymity but apparently that does not fit into Posh's evil plan for world famewhore dominance.

He's a Hottie and a Half, and I don't remember the voice bugging me too much. Posh was one of my favorite Spice Girls, so I have a soft spot for both of them, famewhores or not.

OK, I can understand that people think she is a famewhore. But I don't buy that she is responsible for all of the publicity and over-exposure they get. He seems to be quite capable of mega-famewhoring himself. IMO, he enjoys all of the attention.
