Really? I mean, it's sad and poignant and all that, but... kinda inspiringly beautiful, too. I recently found out it's based on a Native American (Navajo, I think) poem.

"Puff the Magic Dragon" always gets me. It was my late stepfather's all-time favorite and was played at his funeral.

"My Buddy" by Chet Baker. Makes me think of my beloved doggy, who is in Heaven. I always used to say "hey, buddy," when I came home, so...

"Run for the Roses" by Dan Fogelberg, always makes me so sad. Poor horsies. (So what? Whaddaya wanna make of it?)

I find both Sarah McLachlan's "Good Enough" and India.Arie's "Ready For Love" incredibly sad. Both singers convey such sorrow in their voices.

Katarina Witt skated to that a few years ago and it totally made my heart completely melt. Also, for all you Aussies, Flame Trees by Cold Chisel. Not that horrible new emo version but the original band number.

And then to take things down a notch, Estranged by Guns n' Roses is very sad and poignant ... until you remember that Axl wrote it for a woman (Erin Everly) that he was estranged from because he abused her.

Everybody's Changing by Keane. I never heard it until Lily Allen played it in concert, and I just downloaded it. It's so pretty, but it's making me so depressed.
