Oh Steelers, why do you break my heart like this?
I know...and the thought of that makes me sick to my stomach.

Tell me about it! I thought the Jets were a sucky team this year, and then they did that presto-change-o thing in their very first play! I was expecting a Jets player to run into the end zone, remove his helmet, and pull the football out of it! Between that and Penn State flaming out, this wan't the best of weekends...

Hey, the Browns won! So that's one potential underdog to root for in the playoffs.

The Catholic guilt is annoying me today. I almost wish the Pats would lose so I wouldn't feel like I have to apologize for the ass-kickings every week. It's just not enjoyable for me anymore. At least the Celtics finally lost.

Oh Steelers, why do you break my heart like this? I know...and the thought of that makes me sick to my stomach. Yes, I was glad the Patriots won their first Superbowl because they've had so much bad luck as a team before, plus I felt the same way about the St. Louis Rams that I felt about the Patriots now. Then it turned to strong dislike along the way, and while it would be neat for another team to win all their games in a season, since I'm not a Miami Dolphis fan, for an underdog fan like me, it's not very much fun to see all these bad teams have absolutely no chance against the Patriots as long as Brady is healthy, and probably very little chance even if he's not playing. That's partly why I have the Bengals avatar up. Plus, I figure that they suck so much now that anything I do can't possibly bring them anymore luck. When the Browns start losing again, which will probably be as soon as next year since they'll have a much tougher schedule, I'll probably have to put them back-up. By that time hopefully the Bengals will finally get it together again, or maybe I'll have to find some kind of split avatar thing to support both teams. Surprisingly, I don't care about professional rivalries, I'm just more of a person who usually doesn't care for the big dog so I'll probably never like "America's Team", and now the Patriots will probably be added to the small list of teams that I won't cheer for even if they're the underdog. I'm okay with Pittsburgh most of the time, especially since Roethlisberger is from Ohio. The Ravens are okay with me now that Troy Smith is there and because they haven't won any in conference games this season; although, I didn't really appreciate them when they won the Superbowl. ETA: If the Dolphins actually lose all their games this year, which seems like a possibility, then I hope that the Patriots don't actually win all their games. For me it's a one or the other situation, because as much as I don't like the Dolphins because of all the bandwagon fans that were here when they were playing well, I think it's bad enough to have to share a big record like that with another team or lose all of your own games, but not both to happen to the same team. Unfortunately, both possibilities seem likely unless by small chance a team that plays Miami towards the end of the season doesn't have any reason to risk injuring their players, and only plays their second and third string in that case the Dolphins might actually have a chance. The Patriots aren't going to be the team to do that this year; although they might have before the season began, but they're punishing everyone now because of the video taping scandal.

I wouldn't mind the Pats if they weren't so damn SMUG about it. Have some HUMILITY! Starting with Bellichick, who I think is one of the unclassiest people in football, they act (not all of them though) with this huge sense of entitelment that makes me sick.
aibohphobia- I am REALLY surprised as to how bad the Bengals are doing this season! They had them picked 1st or 2nd in our division, so I can't understand either. They have a great QB, a decent OLine( unlike my team), a good coach...It just boggles.

Nobody picked up Tom Brady and used him to beat the crap out of Bill Bellichick Sunday. Ah me...another 3 hours wasted.

Yes, that's probably a big thing too. I know why they're running up the score up on everyone this season, and I know technically it's the other team's fault for not being able to stop it, but it seems so unclassy like what college coaches do to try to get more votes. Plus, I don't understand why he couldn't work his magic with the Browns if he's such a genius when he was a coach here. He did get us to the play-offs one year, but I think that was about it. Then, of course, the way he dresses and his smugness seems to have rubbed off on Charlie Weis, and now everyone can laugh at all the hype that surrounded him coaching at Notre Dame, but before I couldn't believe he had acted so high and mighty towards other coaches just because he came from the NFL. I feel like he's reaping what he's sowed now though, and at one point I even felt a little bad about Notre Dame's season. I think this is definitely Marvin Lewis's last season. I liked him, and he probably is a good coach, but he lost control of the players somewhere along the way.

What is there something in the water with Boston's teams this year?

So, let me get this straight. We're into the THIRD QUARTER in a game AGAINST MIAMI, and it is STILL a scoreless game?!?!
This is starting to remind me of the saying that the best swordman in the world doesn't fear the second best, but the worst, because that guy's unpredictable...
