I still can't get over how absolutely terrible it is. I seriously think it's probably the worst floor routine I've ever seen from a top elite like her. I have no desire to see her on the US Olympic team next year.

SwanFlake thank you so much for posting those routines.....those were the days. Chelsie Memmel sucks, sucks, sucks. The girl is like Britney Spears of gymnastics, that was one of the most uninspired listless routines ever. I'm surprised she didn't start that routine with "it's Chelsea bitch."

I breathlessly await the posting of your next batch of awesome routines, dare I request some Alexei Nemov??

As for Lilia, le sigh, as one poster on youtube declared: "she makes all other gymnasts look like lumbering cows on floor" she does indeed. I'm off to youtube.

I really enjoyed the evolution of the uneven bars. Do have links for something similar for other events?

I found an interesting clip of Hungarians doing beam and tumbling from the 50's, but not exactly what I was looking for. I also found a montage of floor from the 60's to present, but with no tumbling and they didn't label the years.

Jadefox, I think wikipedia may be the best place to go to find out exactly what happened to Vanessa. I know bits and pieces, but not the whole story. Maybe Swanflake can help?

Thanks to the Youtube Gods, here is a clip of Vanessa talking about the Olympic trials on Starting Over. Apparently, she gained a whopping FOUR POUNDS because of her surgery, so her new coaches pressured her to not eat to get her weight down.
