I am so glad she chose a tailored dress for her engagement photo. Both she and Beatrice look so much better when they're not swamped in ruffles and frills. She looks lovely here.

I really like her hair color in the engagement photos; she does look very happy. I'm glad to see a man described as a socialite.

I’m happy for them and agree that she looks lovely and they both look happy. It’s been a nice long courtship, so I hope that bodes well for a marriage with staying power. The ring is just right for her! I wish them every happiness!

There's an article on the BBC with yet another line of succession for the Royal Family. Does someone here know, after the law regarding succession was changed a few years ago, why Princess Anne and her children do not come before Prince Andrew and his two daughters?

Maybe it's because Anne refused titles for her children?

I believe that Elizabeth's children weren't included in the changed law of succession - they kept the order they'd had before, and the new law changes the rules only for children born after it went into effect.

On topic ish a small story which makes me feel old and possibly have my mother haunt me for this, should Eugenie Wedding be televised it will be watched by me with a memory of Andrew and Fergies wedding and my mothers driving test in a centre 10miles from home and TV and me waiting in centre for her to return then in flurry back in the door after test grabs me jumps back into car and home in the door telly on royal wedding to be watched, from behind a newspaper my Dad asks well did you pass? My mum answered not really ....cautiously he asks not really?? Yes not really I took a short cut after he(tester) said no shortening route for royal weddings, my mother changed it up to get home in time...

Yes, IIRC it became effective after William and Kate married and before George was born. So if the birth order of Charlotte and George had been reversed, she would have been ahead of him.

It really is a pity it didn't affect the current order. I would have laughed like a drain imagining Andrew's fury.* (I have the impression - perhaps the wrong impression - that he'd prefer to be far, far higher in the Order of Succession. Like next in line and elbowing Charles out of the way.)
