I was just coming here to post the Dear Prudence column!
That's so crazy...
I love Prudence so much. She's my favorite columnist - I think she takes the proper tone - caring but hard-ass if need be. I also think she's really pretty and awesome (based on the Slate videos and her Human Guinea Pig column.). Plus, she had a year-end column where she reevaluated her advice based on reader input.
She rules, in so many ways. I almost wish she could go all PI up in this and solve the case.

What I found really trippy about the Dear Prudence column is I've been following the collapse of a net-pseuicide for the last couple of days (I'd link, but everything I know of is on private boards). Enough with the questionable deaths already.

Todays Abby really grossed me out when a guy in his 60's I think wrote about the thong issue by talking about how his pretty sisters wore such pretty nylon panties with designs on them. I think he has thought way too much about his sisters panties if he remembers the designs after all these years.  Can we pretend he was talking about Marilyn and Bettie, because otherwise I'm creeped out. |

I saw that! I think it has to be fake. Is this lady going to reject potential adoptive babies if they aren't pretty enough for her? Or, god forbid, if they have a rough tween patch. It's so illogical, it must be fake, right?

The girl who wrote Letter #4 has my sympathy, and while I can understand why the parent of a kid like "Larry" would really appreciate a classmate being nice to them, I get irritated by folks who insist that teenage girls humor people who are making them uncomfortable, especially when they turn around and act all bewildered when Rihanna takes back Chris Brown. That, and some of the comments implying that if creepy guys got pity fucks from the "ice bitches" in high school, mass shootings wouldn't happen. Last time I checked, a 14-year-old girl's job was to be a student, not a social worker, or otherwise take on issues that are the responsibilities of the adults running the school...
