I'm not a big Katy Perry follower, but has she gone off the deep end?

I saw her on Ellen the other day and she was absolutely insufferable. Granted, I've probably never seen a full interview with her, but I didn't think she was that obnoxious before.

And her SNL appearance was a total embarrassment. Her new song is so awful it almost seems like a parody of...something.

Ginger, I too think she is going off the deep end a bit. Her behavior is never completely un-cringeworthy to me, but I've been getting so much secondhand embarrassment from her lately.

I thought this was interesting though...info from her about the T-Swift feud.

If Katy thinks that Taylor was wrong to start the feud over this issue, I would say Katy is now wrong for continuing the feud and blowing it up even more. Be the bigger person, not the smaller one. Not that I can make sense of the stupid lyrics to her song, but she's using funeral imagery, which is really excessive.

I don't even think the feud is about Taylor anymore, it's about Katy getting attention for her single/album. She knows that Taylor feud is what people want.

I don't know what she's doing either, that SNL appearance was horrendous. It felt like she was stealing pieces of every other artist in the last few years (Miley's short blond do, Gwen Stefani's penchant for surrounding herself with other people who don't quite have anything to do with the performance, etc) but doing it worse than any of them ever did.

Agreed. Katy's been off the radar for awhile, rehashing this old "feud" is a way to get her foot back in the door. IIRC, she never addressed it while it was happening, probably because she didn't need to, she was everywhere then.

I am slightly Team Taylor, if only because she has a little talent, while Katy Perry has literally zero talent.

Oh, I'm so Team Katy. Sooooo TK. She had that horrid video that Taylor made about her...I kind of like that she came out with the truth. It makes Taylor seem even more overblown.

I like 1989, but I think Taylor is at once both ridiculous and frighteningly petty. I prefer Katy's songs more.

I have to agree.

Taylor is passive aggressively indirect in all her jabs. "I'm gonna leave juuuuuust enough breadcrumbs to be obvious about who I'm referring to, but I'm not actually gonna get my hands dirty by saying their name."

I don't mind Katy issuing a response song, and honestly I kind of respect that she just went ahead and stated plainly that, yes, she is referring to Taylor Swift, and here's why.

Also, I have a softer spot for Katy after her stumping for HRC. Taylor Swift was conspicuously silent about the election, and in this day and age, neutrality is not an option.

Yeah, I think Katy has made a lot of missteps here and there, but I like her. I like her songs, and I like her. I know there was a lot of snark when she started stumping for HRC, but it's like, which is it? Is she a dingy popstar FOREVER, or can she be allowed to grow?

I think Firework and Roar are pretty catchy, but the Taylor Swift diss track is nothing like them and just flat-out sucks.
