I haven't heard her voice in years, not since I watched The Town, but she had (and I guess has) remarkably poor diction for an actress, almost as if she's talking around something. It would be distracting in a great actress and in her it becomes incredibly aggravating.

Yeah. I forget where but somewhere where I would discuss or read recaps of Gossip Girl she was often referred to as "marble mouth."

Sorry for the double post, but here's a bump for some bitchery. Martha Stewart is throwing shade at Blake Lively: Uh, Martha? A lot of people would prefer to be you, because you make a shit-ton more money and have a sustainable career that goes beyond looking young and pretty, duh. I get that you are trying to be cute, but no. We know you're not that dim. Blake had a classy answer, though. Preserve sucks, but she seems nice enough. Source ETA: This is kind of funny: I bought spoons from Preserve. The gist of the article is that there wasn't enough product info on the site, the spoons that came were nice but not the same design as pictured, and the packaging they arrived in was super unprofessional.

I didn't think Martha's comment was bitchy. It was just, well, Martha.

Yeah, I guess it falls under shade rather than bitchery. The reason I think it's a bit of a dig (masquerading as self deprecation) is that she straight up calls Blake's career move stupid.

I think Martha's just a little ticked that these young Hollywood bitches who aspire to be lifestyle gurus are trying to encroach onto her turf.

I don't blame her, really -- this is what she does, and, like her or not, she does it well. To have a bunch of dilettantes come onto your turf would be pretty annoying.

No it won't. Because nothing Blake Lively does is interesting. Nothing.

I tried to skim through the site, but the pretentious, humble-brag B.S. irked me to no end. No, Ms. Lively, you are certainly not an editor, but, honey, you desperately need one. I, for one, will not be back, even to hate read.

I agree. I think it would be maddening for Stewart and her colleagues, who came up in catering, chef work, etc. to know that actresses are trying to rise up as the next generation in their field. Like... what? Martha Stewart and others like her paid their dues with small-time businesses, shows on cable access, etc. This wasn't some cute hobby for them. This was their career and they have actual knowledge and training. It would be kind of like being a journalist for years to find out you're potential replacements are all hobby bloggers with no real experience or training.
