Dang, her boobs look huge and perfect in that pic up there. She is my workout inspiration currently, but no amount of working out is gonna get me those!

I'm surprised she got the Vogue cover. I didn't think she was a big enough name to get one. Not that I really have any criteria for who should be on it (I don't really care; I don't really think too deeply about whether one should be a movie star to deserve one) but I am surprised. But at least they're changing things up I guess. Move over Gwyneth and Kate (Hudson). She is no where near being a big enough name to get a Vogue cover. I hope this Vogue cover thing is just a rumor, I'm still shocked she got the cover of W. Her publicist is definitely earning their keep. Gossip Girl is not even a top ten show & what has Blake done film wise other then Sisterhoodx2 (where she is not even the lead) that was noteworthy? Blake very well may go on to become a famous actress in the future but right now I feel like TPTB are trying to force her arrival. I hope I don't sound to bitter but I do believe if she were not blond she would not be receiving even a 1/4 of this media attention. But I guess that point is moot anyhow.

I think Blake Lively is pretty but I think Leighton Meester has a very haunting and beautiful face that would look good on a Vogue cover.
I don't know how she got the Vogue cover but maybe celebrity culture has changed so much that you probably don't have to be at the top to snag a cover anymore (I suppose). On the other hand, they have put really young stars on the cover before. Didn't Natalie Portman get the cover when she was only 19? But I suppose she was considered a prodigy of some sort who was explanding her horizons by doing bad Star Wars movies so perhaps it wasn't so odd that she made the cover.
I wonder if people are getting bored of seeing Gwyneth, Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman, and maybe Reese Witherspoon rotate the covers. And perhaps that's the logic behind putting Lively on it. And J-Lo......well, no one seems to want to put her on the cover of anything anymore. I think she's been reduced to appearing on those diet magazines. Still, there's Portman, Knightley and Johannson in the younger set to cover although maybe they're suffering from over-exposure (Portman not so much but all of her profiles are exactly the same and kind of boring and predictable) so now the media is trying to create new stars.
Still...yeah, I don't get how Lively got the cover. She doesn't annoy me though. She seems like a genuinely nice person.

I wonder if people are getting bored of seeing Gwyneth, Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman, and maybe Reese Witherspoon rotate the covers. The funny thing is, while I can see the argument that Blake isn't famous enough to warrant a Vogue cover, none of those actresses have had hits in years. (Okay, Gwynnie had "Iron Man", but she certainly didn't carry that movie.) So, maybe Blake does deserve the cover. Her show is doing better than anything Nicole Kidman's done since, like, 2002. That said, no amount of media hype will convince me this girl is pretty. I think she is ugly as hell.

Her cover of Vogue is HIDEOUS. They managed to eliminate two of her best assets: her long neck and legs. Only her pretty hair is evident. Her Vogue cover hasn't been shot yet. Do you mean her W cover? Because yes, it's heinous. I don't get the hype over this girl - Leighton Meester is clearly Gossip Girl's breakout star and superior in every way. Lively cannot act, constantly talks like she has marbles in her mouth and looks about 40. Her publicists definitely deserve a gold star for effort. As for how she landed the Vogue cover, she has 'The Private Lives Of Pippa Lee' coming out early next year, a highly-anticipated indie written and directed by Rebecca Miller. She plays the younger version of the title character, played by Robin Wright Penn. The whole cast is pretty awesome - Alan Arkin, Maria Bello, Monica Bellucci, Julianne Moore, Winona Ryder, Keanu Reeves (OK, not a great actor but HOT), Mike Binder. I'm sure they will all make Lively look all the more incompetent.

I prefer Leighton (and Blair) too. I think she's the real breakout star. I can see her transitioning to a film career.
Blake, on the other hand, will be a flash in the pan. I see another tall, thin, blonde with mediocre talent when she's on my screen. Nothing special.

Oh, they're making a movie of that book? I read it at the beginning of the year and I wasn't overwhelmed, but I think it could make a pretty interesting movie. Blake looks the part of a young Pippa; I'll withold judgement on her acting ability until I actually see her take on something meaty with this part.

Her playing a young Robin Wright Penn is great casting. I think this girl has a future ahead of her if she can get over that marble mouth thing. I really hope Leighton gets a better future though, that girl is just kickass.

Personally, I like both actresses. They both seem to have a good head on their shoulders and they try to avoid the spotlight as much as possible.
It also helps that GG is filmed in NYC, so they can only get into so much trouble.
