Just finished reading Queen Noor's book, Leap of Faith, and found it to be such a unique personal story. She helped make me aware of a lot of Arab history and attitudes I really wasn't aware of before.
Anyone else find the former Queen's life fascinating?

I saw that book at Target and was going to buy it but then I realized I had about 5 unread books sitting at home, so I put it back on the shelf.
I'd love to read it eventually. I don't know much about her.

I ordered the book from Amazon marketplace, but I haven't gotten it yet...once I do, I'll come back and discuss. I like her though, I saw her interview on Larry King recently and she was very interesting and seemed very intelligent and nice. Also they showed photos of her from when she was younger and she was gorgeous. Still very very pretty in my opinion.

I am happy to see that Queen Nuur has a new companion, Jim kinsey. To be married to the womanizing Jordan king must have been difficult many times.

You know, I don't know much about Queen Noor but I've heard that she's done some pretty spectacular things. I'd be interested in learning more about her.

Welcome to the board, girliegirl...and happy belated birthday! I don't know much about Noor but what I have heard is very interesting. I might check out her book...to add to my pile of unread stuff. Pity that reading can't easily be multi-tasked.

I read Queen Noor's book also (actually, listened to it on tape). I was surprised and disappointed that she didn't address the bombing of Pan Am 103 (she included discussions about meeting Muammar Qaddafi) or September 11th.
Her book, of course, didn't even hint at rumors of her husband's infidelity. Anyone got the gossip?

Well, King Hussein had four wives (not all at the same time) and 12 children, so I think it's a safe assumption that he enjoyed female companionship. I think Noor knew what she was getting into when she was still Lisa Halaby, so it's not like any infidelities would have been a surprise.
I still remember when she married King Hussein; it wasn't quite the level of Charles & Diana, but it was A Big Deal. Given what she had to marry into - a totally new nation; conversion to a new religion; being thrust on a world stage where she had to be, for all intents and purposes, a diplomat for her adopted country - I think she's done pretty well.

Palace rumor had it that Hussein was about to dump her for a younger woman when it was discovered he had cancer. She was lucky he got sick when he did or else she would have been tossed out like the rest of his exes.

She is beautiful, stunning. I saw a pic of her recently and she looks fantastic. If she has had any kind of plastic surgery, it was the good kind. In fact both her and Queen Raina are just very good looking women, IMO.
