He was one of the few current authors that wrote in such a unique way as to inspire. I wasn't aware of any depression in his makeup. I first read Girl With The Curious Hair shortly after it was published and fell for his style instantly. Fantastic talent and a big loss.

I wasn't expecting that when I opened this thread. I actually gasped a little in shock.
How sad. What a great loss.
I currently have Consider the Lobster on my shelf. I've never read any of his fiction but I love his essays, especially how he described being on the Disney Cruise Ship. He was very witty.
