My creepy-ass, old musician take is that Miley is like her Dad: she have her hits, no one will take her seriously, and she'll fade away.
Demi and Selena are the new Xtina/Britney. Like Christina, Demi has the superior singing voice. What little I have heard is OK, but doesn't grab me.
Selena, like Britney has a more limited voice, that definitely benefits from studio assistance, but there is a kernel of charisma in it that she maximizes to good effect. Also, her production team, like Britney's, just makes BETTER records. Almost anyone could have had a hit with C&GI, or Love Song, because they are freakin' great songs with shiny production values. Selena, at least, seems brilliant at picking who she works with.
As a parent of an almost 6 year old, I am only too aware of these Disney tartlets. Hannah Montana was winding down when MissP discovered Disney channel, and Demi's show was just past, so I mostly saw her in movies. And I have been known to enjoy a Wizards marathon or two. It's a fun show.
All of which brings up a thought in my head:
Who is this generations's Mandy Moore? Ashley Tisdale or Bridgit Mendler? Both are ok singers, but better actresses.

I think Bridgit Mendler might actually have a shot at an adult career (in television) post Disney. She can act and has a more mature look to her that will probably serve her well in the long run. Also I appreciate her Natasha Beddingfield-style voice. I'm not sure about Ashley Tisdale. Seems everyone who isn't Zac Efron or Vanessa Hudgens was quickly forgotten from the whole High School Musical group (what the hell happened to Corbin Bleu?).

I'm not sure about Ashley Tisdale. Seems everyone who isn't Zac Efron or Vanessa Hudgens was quickly forgotten from the whole High School Musical group (what the hell happened to Corbin Bleu?). Corbin Bleu is on One Life to Live. I can't gauge who's going to have a lasting career and who isn't anymore. People who I thought would be gone by now are still going strong, so I can't really say. Selena's album isn't dreadful, but it could have been made by anyone, she's lucky she has a built in fanbase. |

Huh. I have never heard of Bridgit Mendler. I Google imaged her, and still don't recognize her. That might work in her favor if she wanted to move on to a more adult career, hah.

Mendler has been starring on "Good Luck Charlie" on Disney. It is actually a MUCH better show than usual for Disney Channel. It could be a sitcom on a real network, and apparently just won an emmy. Naturally, it's no longer in production....
Topic? Mendler was Justin's vampire girlfriend on Wizards with Selena...

After talking with Ryan Seacrest this week, she's said that they are no longer an item Heh. She says that all the time and then like a week later she's spotted leaving his house in the morning or they're posting cosy snaps together on Instagram. I called it! OK, I deserve no cookies for guessing a pair of on-and-off dingbats would shortly be on again - a toddler could have called it. But Selena really needs to quit saying she's not seeing Justin when she clearly is. It just makes her look like an idiot. That has got to be the ugliest car I have even seen. What a total douche-nozzle. The fact that Selena is so enamored of him makes me think that she must not be all that smart.

OMFG. That car. It's so embarrassing, I almost feel bad for him. Like the way I felt about local boys growing up. The ones with the Bad Boyz stickers, Vuarnet Blade glasses, lifted trucks and lit-up, spinny rims. It's soooo douchey, it's beyond redemption.
Seriously, it makes me feel some hard second hand embarrassment.
