I had wondered if/when she was going to have this surgery. A friend of mine in her 50s has exotropia that's never been corrected. She has no vision problems.
Louise is a dead ringer for the young Queen Elizabeth.

Resurrecting his thread to say that Prince Edward is rapidly becoming my favorite royal after Duchess Kate because of his dramatic plaque unveilings. He seems like a funny, lovely chap! Here's an example.

Now people can stop…Charles would have had to really be an a-hole to not grant Edward the title, since that was QEII and Phillip’s wishes.

Nice to read some happy royal news! I’m happy for them. They seem like a solid, happy, hard working couple.

Aww, good on ya, Edward (and Charles)!
ETA: This feels deserved, aside from it being in line with QEII and Prince Philip’s wishes. Happy to see the news cycle report on this and focus on Edward and Sophie’s public service than the headlines about the Sussexes grasping for their American children’s British titles as birthright.

The past week has made me feel bad for Louise. James is already a Viscount, and unless the titles are only for Edward's life (as they might be, since if primogeniture were how it worked Charles should be Duke of Edinburgh), he'll be both an Earl and a Duke in due course. The Sussex kids get to be Prince and Princess. Meanwhile, Louise gets to be "Lady" and that's it.
I realize absolutely none of this matters in real life but still.

The Palace announced that the DofE title is only for Edward’s lifetime so the intent is that James will not inherit the title. He will “only” be the Earl of Wessex.
