Not many people have dog walkers, but many people have pets. And when you hear a story like this, you think of your own pets.
I'm not allowed pets here, but I virtually have many, including my best friend's 3 cats, and my sister's Labradoodle.
And I would do anything in my power to keep them safe.
We all feel for the dog walker, but we can easily imagine losing a fur children.

Not many people have dog walkers, but many people have pets. "Not everybody has a dog walker"? Oh my God! He's a human being. He's somebody's son, friend, lover, and probably a lot of other things to the people in his life. And he's probably pretty young since he's making his money that way at this moment. I absolutely have more concern and empathy for a human being attacked and shot four times for no good reason, than two dogs who at worst were probably going to go from one pampered home to another one and barely know the difference.

It's possible to feel terrible for the person who was shot, the dogs and the entire situation.

Yes it is, I’m just gobsmacked that , 1, a human can get shot for dogs and 2 that owner of said dogs has given the impression or the way the story has been told that that’s not the important part of the story the dogs are. No questions asked reward just sends an awful message. Maybe that’s a public front to lure whoever in and there’s an quieter undercover investigation on the shooting aswell.

A childhood friend of mine lives in Beverly Hills now and his Frenchie was stolen a couple of years ago. He was understandably devastated and they never got the dog back. He said that stealing Frenchies is big business and the thieves actually remove the dog's microchip.

I absolutely have more concern and empathy for a human being attacked and shot four times for no good reason, than two dogs who at worst were probably going to go from one pampered home to another one and barely know the difference. No need for moral grandstanding. All they were saying is that most people immediately imagine what they would do or how they would feel if someone tried to steal their own pet. No one is disregarding the life of the dog walker. Most headlines are leading with the fact that the person was shot and then that the dogs were stolen. Obviously the poor person valued the dogs' lives as based on the video that TMZ has, it looks like he got shot trying to save them. And those dogs are probably not going to another pampered home. If they are lucky, the cops track them down and recover them. Most likely scenario now that the case is so high profile due to the attempted murder + being celebrity dogs, is that they are quietly dumped somewhere and hopefully found by a random person before they become coyote or car bait. Worse scenarios might involve puppymill breeding (don't know if they were fixed) where they live out the rest of their lives abused and/or locked in a tiny cage. I can't imagine any loving home is buying an adult French bulldog on the blackmarket.

We have crime and drug gangland shooting that shock us. It’s to me the almost, omg celeb dogs stolen huge news btw man got shot blasé ness of this is what has me just wtf about it

I know why people misread my post and it's complete my fault. To me, the shooting of someone is already a serious part, I didn't think I needed to state it. In my mind, it's already a given. However, I do see how what I wrote was misinterpreted and it's my fault for making it seem like I don't care about people getting shot.
I'm sorry my post made things go a little haywire on this thread.
Back on topic, I hope the dog walker is okay and gets better soon. I also hope her dogs are found safe and unharmed.

If someone kidnapped my actual children and a babysitter was harmed in the process, I would put up a ransom for my children, no questions asked. The matter related to the babysitter would be separate. The authorities would handle those matters. I would still want justice for harming the babysitters
