TMZ Said the dogs were found tied to a pole in an alley. Kinda shitty for the thieves to dump them like that but I’m guessing being wanted on attempted murder charges and having a $500k reward offered made them a hot commodity.
TMZ is also reporting that Gaga intends to give the woman who found the dogs the reward.

If I were the woman who found the dogs I would donate the money to various shelters and rescues and pay for some of Ryan Fischer's medical bills. Those are going to run into the tens of thousands.
Maybe I would keep some to build my cats a catio and adopt a shelter dog.
But I don't know this woman's circumstances and I hope her identity remains a secret, because coming into that amount of money may make her a target for the shooters/dognappers or crazy family members or high school friends who are grifters.
(I tend towards the "adopt don't shop" end of the spectrum, though I do understand that purchasing a pet is not always a terrible thing to do. If I had livestock, I would probably want a Great Pyrenees with a known pedigree. But these poor creatures who have been over bred to the point of congenital defects break my heart. Double merle Australian shepherds and Peke-faced Persians make me sad.)

That was I was thinking, too. Going through insurance doesn't guarantee that there wouldn't be some sort of balance. I'd be pretty surprised if she didn't foot the bill entirely and follow through with paying the lady that found them in full. Sad that they have to surveillance the lady that found them, but I get it. I'm thinking that the perps that did the shooting didn't know that these were Gaga's dogs. I would imagine that if it was a professional ring, they'd ask for more money and find someone to be the stooge to turn them in. I think they wanted to get rid of those dogs FAST and draw no attention to themselves for attempted murder.

I read that she is covering his bills, which total $100k. I am always shocked when I read these stories, as someone not American. I mean, not only wealthy celebs hire dog walkers.

OT for my OG Law & Order peeps, while I have HBO Max, it’s on a variety of channels almost every day of the week for several episodes (though I’ve yet to see any of seasons 1-4 yet):
Sunday WE TV starting at noon
Monday BBC America start at 5:00pm
Tuesday and Wednesday WE TV starting at 3:00pm
Thursday and Friday Sundance Channel starting at 1:00pm
Topic - I’m wondering if it wasn’t Lady Gaga as the target. Sounds like there’s been a lot of French Bulldogs being targeted. Maybe they didn’t realize the dogs belonged to a major pop star and that’s why they were returned?

My friend broke down and bought the DVDs for seasons 1-4 because they aren’t available for streaming or On Demand.
I’m glad Ryan is expected to make a full recovery. I think Frenchies can be adorable (BTW did you know there’s a “long haired” variety?), but I don’t think I could buy one in good conscience. For the over breeding issue and how insanely expensive they are. But I don’t begrudge people who buy from responsible breeders. I was lucky enough to adopt a puppy from my local shelter last February, but even then it had been almost a year of frustration of going through shelters and rescues and not being able to find a small/medium sized dog. This was before lockdown, and the rescues did not favor people who worked full time outside the home.

Yeah, it sounds like dog walking is his side gig--one he is good at and loves--but that he is trying to make it as an artist (not sure what kind of artist). I know several professional dog walkers and all of them have a stable of clients and no benefits. They all love what they do, but in the gig economy it is a precarious existence. Especially in quarantine--maybe people who once needed dog walkers are now home all the time and longing for a quick trip around the neighborhood with Petey and Millie.
I used to require the services of my pet sitter once a month, but since March 2020, I've only had her watch the cats at Christmas.
I'm glad Ryan isn't going to have to rely on a GoFundMe or a benefit concert by his musician friends to pay his medical bills, but that is what would happen to any dog sitter in my neighborhood.

My other two dogs have been greyhounds rescued after they retired from racing. They have been practically perfect. I will always want a rescue greyhound if I can help it. OT but OMG everyone I know who has a retired racer says the same thing - they are perfect, gentle, so sweet natured. A friend got one, loved him so much got another, loved them so much got a third (she has a ton of land so they can romp). They are the sweetest things and all about the love. One thinks she's a toy breed and will try so hard to fit in your lap when you sit down. With her long legs it's the dearest, funniest thing to watch her try to make herself tiny while poking you with her knees and feet, especially to me since I have a toy breed.

They are the best, in my completely biased opinion. It can be a bit like cuddling with a sack of elbows, but they really are so sweet and gentle. The only reason why I don’t have multiple greyhounds is because my car is really only big enough for one.
