I like her well enough - she seemed like a nice woman - but it has always bugged me how people desexualise her. Like she remained a girl forever, despite her marriages and having kids. Eh, she was rumored to have a few affairs-the one about her and Greg Peck was surely false, but she definitely had a fling with William Holden and with Albert Finney.

She had an affair with DADDY WARBUCKS?! Anyway, Audrey Hepburn. I think she's pretty and gamine and all that, but I also don't understand the obsession. However, my best friend is a complete Audrey fanatic, so I spend a lot of time saying things like, "Oh, you're right! That picture IS the most beautiful thing ever!" I'm a very supportive friend.

Yep, when they made Two for the Road.

I think I may be the only person in the world who is "eh" on her. I do respect the charity work she has done, but as far as the MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN IN THE WORLD!, charming! classy!, etc, I kind of...don't get it. Feel free to stone me. I'm right there with you. I'm sure she was a very nice woman, but just not particularly interesting, and while she had a very pretty face, the adolescent boy's body, especially when clad in tight fitting all-black beatnick ensemble? The epitome of feminine beauty? Um, no. As a child, I always confused her face with Jean Simmon's and her name with Katharine Hepburn's, whom I loved and still do.

Add me to the small chorus of "I don't get the hype." I think she's quite pretty, but not the most beautiful woman in the world. I never thought she was a stellar actress, either. Nothing about any of her performances that I've seen has really grabbed me. And I hate that film clip in that Gap commercial. It reminds me of how the Beats got a bum rap in Hollywood portrayals (not that I'm the biggest Beat fan, but still).

I think Audrey got her rep because she had such a graceful, gentle, feminine way about her, was EXTREMELY stylish, (she's the reason why we have the "little black dress"), and was such a kind and lovely individual. She may not have been the most talented actress out there, but I'd be willing to bet she was one of the ones who was the most fun to work with.
Her figure was, again, the result of malnutrition as an adolescent during WWII.

I think Audrey Hepburn was beautiful in motion (i.e on film) but looks kind of 'eh'/ordinary in pictures.
Ironically enough, however, I think her alleged twin Natalie Portman looks beautiful in pictures but kind of 'eh/ordinary' in motion.
Edited to add: Maybe it has something to do with charisma (which Audrey has in spades) or lack of it (in Natalie's case).

Well, not exactly. She admitted when she was in her later years that she had an eating disorder.

Don't remember the specifics but it was near the end of her life when she admitted it. Her son talked about it.
