We're finally meeting Rachel's dads. Goddamn it, now I have to watch again--I love Brian Stokes Mitchell. It's a mini-Ragtime reunion! I long ago stopped watching this horrible show but will cop to wanting to see the Rachel's Dads episode if only to see Goldblum continuing his recent blazing success in crafting oddball TV guest characters so hilariously.

It's stunning how bad this show has become. I think back to the pilot and it's slightly Election-y type feel, and how quickly it veered into these baffling zero-depth characters who can turn on a dime. I still like to hear the musical numbers, but even those are becoming lackluster.
The Moves Like Jagger segment should have been all Mike Chang. Period. And NOT those lame Jagger impersonations we're so used to. But no, we have to get dumbed down choreography so that Morrison's character can be included. In an episode that is already all about him.
And don't even get me started on that dumb top hat.

I'll wait for the clips of their segments on YouTube. I prefer not to subject myself to the entire episode and the way this show is put together, you don't have to watch most of it to care or follow along anyway.

You know, I was really looking forward to the MJ ep, until I found out that its All About Blaine. Evidently he's still hanging out with Sebastian and somehow leaks the set list for regionals. THen something happens and he gets hurt and its all about how angry the kids are at the Warblers and how precious Blaine is. Like, I know they had to give a reason for Blaine to not be on the show for two weeks so Darren Criss could start riots in NYC, but I don't care about Blaine. I do love how Chris Colfer told a reporter that he doesn't like how Blaine is still hanging around Sebastian, and how he doesn't understand how Kurt is okay with it. He said if it was Chris in the relationship he'd go "Clovis-style" on Sebastian.

Gawd, Rachel, way to make Kurt's moment of triumph all about you.

You know, I was really looking forward to the MJ ep, until I found out that its All About Blaine. Yeah, about five minutes into the episode I thought to myself, "I think Ryan Murphy just poked me in the eye with his Darren Criss boner." This was just...embarrassing. Most performances were lame. These dorks are too goody two-shoes to actually do anything edgy or interesting (no matter how many times Santana tries). And when they kept asking "What would Michael do?" I thought, "Um, show up in your pajamas two hours late and then whine about doo-doo feces?" And guess this means Quinn won't be around next year. Good for her -- run, girl, run! And don't look back!

Gawd, Rachel, way to make Kurt's moment of triumph all about you. That's pretty much what I said too! That episode was so awful, I don't even have the words. I thought Blaine was nice when he was first introduced, but I hate him so much now. Urgh! And don't get me started on that Sebastian douche. And I don't understand this worship of FUBAR - those kids weren't even born when he was still considered cool. Just made me cringe the whole time.

The only good thing about the episode was Kurt's dad, who was awesome as usual, and the line about Sebastian being like an 80's teen movie villain, because that's exactly how he comes across. You almost expect him to go challenge John Cusack to a ski race or something.

And I don't understand this worship of FUBAR - those kids weren't even born when he was still considered cool. Just made me cringe the whole time. That's why the "Scream" number was the only one that really gelled for me, as insane as it was, because Mike Chang's and Artie's hip hop/R&B fandom has already been established enough that it was believable that they'd be MJ fans. Puck? Not so much. He'd be the first one to make a pedo joke. And why did they take one of the only male actors on the show who can dance and put him in a wheelchair? "Human Nature" would have worked better as just Sam and Mercedes singing together in a quiet corner of the school. I worry that the jazz band's collective GPA will suffer since they have to follow the Glee kids around all day in case a number breaks out. Every time Kurt's dad appears, it's like he's been imported from a far better acted show. When they showed Mr. Shue writing Spanish on the white board, I wondered whether they'd switched Glee themes mid-episode. Then I remember that he actually is supposed to be the Spanish teacher. When's the last time they've even mentioned that?
