I should hook her up with my ex. They'd get along great.

More, Now, Again was one of the most compelling memoirs on addiction that I've ever read. I highly recommend it if you're into that sort of thing (and if you don't hate E.W.).

Bitch has got to be some of the most meandering, pointless, dull writing I've ever read. Agreed. I want my money back. She later admitted in More, Now, Again that she had a raging drug problem while writing Bitch. That explains why it was so crappy (or even more crappy, for those who are Wurtzel detractors).

I was so happy when More, Now, Again came out because I'd called it that she was an addict after reading Prozac Nation and some of my friends didn't beliveve me. She did drugs all the time, she vehemently denied that she had any addiction issues and thought people around her were idiots for always focusing on her drug-use when hello, she's just depressed, that's the ONLY reason she does drugs. And doing coke a few times a week is like totally normal if it's to party. Narcs!

I haven't really read much of her stuff, but if that Elle article is any indication of her true nature then it sounds like a lot of men have been lucky to escape her grasp. Full of yourself much, Elizabeth? I am continually surprised at people who haven't figured that long-term relationships, such as marriage, are not going to continue on the high of the start of the relationship. And you know what? Any person worth a damn is going to expect to be treated like they are worth a damn, not just some extension of your honey blond hair, Pilates body and professional standing.
I think she's sort of Sex and the City delusional. Forty-one isn't as old as it used to be, but it's not all that young either. Grow up.

I want to defend her because I think she's made some good points about depression and feminism (didn't finish More, Now, Again, so I'm not sure about addiction) but she always ruins it. She is unmarried and unsuccessful in relationships and 40, something people can identify with. But then she has to add that she still looks beautiful and has a great body and does 20 years olds who come up to her. If she could just get her ego out of it, she might have something interesting to say.
