The Canadian season has started and I'm reminded again of how much I love judge Tre Armstrong. She's positive, yet straight-talking and so elegant. I just love her. The American season add her to the judge's panel (as long as we can still have her in Canada.)

CTV is the station that airs it. They don't seem to have full episodes on their site, but they have some video.

Also, in case you do catch an episode, I do want to go on record and say that while I love Tre Armstrong, I do not condone the cutseyness of Leah whatserface, the host. She is so annoying.

Bumping this up for the new season. Not sending any dancers home last night was total bs. I don't know why Nigel keeps talking about how strong this season's dancers are and how the girls are all beasts. There are a few good dancers but there are alot of weak ones too. Aside from the actual bottom 3 couples there were at least 2 more that I could think of that also could have easily been there. I would have been fine with any of the bottom six dancers going home. Especially that effing woo guy and Jordan the no-necked pussycat doll wannabe.

I know the big news was that Lady Gaga is going to be a guest judge but honestly I am more excited at the rumours that Neil Patrick Harris and Kristen Chenoweth are going to be judges as well.

Early favorites are Melanie and Marko, Nick and Iveta. Although I don't know if she can do anything outside of ballroom and she looks so much older than everyone else.

I love Melanie, Nick, and Iveta too! I feel the same way you do, bronze about Iveta's versatility and mature appearance. I think it's the spray tan and bleached hair.

I'm on the fence about Marko, but I think it's because I fear the judges are going to preface every critique with "you have a bullet in your shoulder!!!" but I guess that's not *his* fault.

I also think it's crap that no one went home last night - I'm ready for Jordan, Ashley, and Missy (? The other "sexy" dancer) to go and the guy who had the shoulder/elbow injury wasn't impressive either, although that might have been due to his injury, I guess. I wasn't electrified by Robert Taylor Jr.'s solo either.

Jordan and Robert should have gone, in my opinion. They had the weakest solos, plus they were good but not fantastic in their routines on Tuesday, so I didn't see it as a case of "great dancer, bad solo". I'm not usually one for conspiracy theories, but it felt like Nigel couldn't justify booting others over them, yet didn't want to lose Woo and the Pussycat wannabe because he thinks they make good TV or something.

I was impressed by Nick last week in the "introducing the top 20" episode, and I thought he did well with Iveta. I also like Melanie & Marko, and I'm rooting for Ashley, too. I like Sasha, but I was underwhelmed by her partner this week.

Nothing will ever top season 5 (Josh, Katee, Twitch, Kherington, etc).

But no Adam and Mia every week is a good start.

Yeah, but now we get Mary "Loud as I wanna be" Murphy screetching every week. I was glad to see her back, because she's such a staple of this show, but a few episodes in I was already kind of over her.

I notice that all the teams (in the first week) pulled "random" styles that were familiar to them... hmmm, funny that. Since no one flubbed badly, it leave America to vote for their favorite on looks and personalilty only... basically the first week's voting becomes a popularity contest. For me, I think the broadway guy needs to go, and the woo hoo guy... they both bug the crap outta me.

And maybe Nigel should reconsider calling all the female dancers a bunch of "beasts" - I don't know any 18 year old girl that wants to be called a beast, even if it does mean "powerhouse" in his mind.

The woo guy annoys me. I don't mind the Broadway guy that much but HGTV cannot stand him. Heh. The only girls I really like are Sasha and that super bubbly girl with the short brown hair. (But I should admit I only watch this show bc HGTV wants me to; I am not really invested in it and I don't know anything about dance.)

I was beginning to wonder if we were the only ones watching. And the Canadian versions start this week as well. We'll be awash in dancers.

If you had told me 10 years ago that my hockey-loving husband would become a SYTYCD devotee, I never would have believed you.

I really like Sasha, but I want to be wowed by her more. I also like Ryan. Do not like Broadway guy. Too smug; it's very off-putting. Don't have a favourite guy yet. Frankly I was so upset when they cut the Dr. (whatever his name was.) I loved him. Tadd looks like an asian Elvis. I'm half-dying to see him in a rhinestone jumpsuit.
