And this was right around the time when we decided to name one of our daughters Pandora and every birthday we give her an empty box wrapped as a gift and when she's about to open it, we just scream "Don't open the box, bitch! Haven't you learned by now!?" The child hating part of me is so amused by this I'm willing to donate one of my eggs to make this happen.

I love that Katherine Heigl is adopting, but Nayleigh is a horrendous name.

I love that Katherine Heigl is adopting, but Nayleigh is a horrendous name. Dammit. Every time I think we've reached the end of the Bailey/Hayley/Raleigh/Kayley/Miley/Riley/Kiley awfulness, somebody comes up with something worse. I don't watch Grey's Anatomy, so I could always ignore the Katherine Heigl hate, but not anymore. I'm on the hate train. I'm director of the hate train. Next stop: talking about her cankles. You brought this on yourself, Heigl.

I hope it's OK to post this here. I was reading an article and in it was a woman (Chinese, I believe) named CAIXIA. How in the world would that be pronounced? I think it looks pretty, but I can't for the life of me figure it out.
eta: Thanks, Chonies. BTW, I love your name. My grandkids, who recently moved 300 miles away, use "chonies" for undies, so it makes me smile to see it. Also, "llano estacado" is the area I live in, as well.

I just watched Patch Adams, and decided to read more about the real Patch Adams. Turns out his first son is name Atomic Zagnut. Whafuck? We need an "utterly confused" smiley.

I think it looks pretty, but I can't for the life of me figure it out. It depends on the tones, and I'm guessing it's similar to this: Cǎixiá I think, based on my one semester of Mandarin, is that it's Chai-sshi-a.

I love that Katherine Heigl is adopting, but Nayleigh is a horrendous name. Apparently, they are actually naming her Nancy Leigh, but calling her Naleigh as a nickname. Even odder. They released the first pics of her and put them on their website. Oh My GOD! SO cute! Arm rolls!

I'm not sure if they truly qualify as celebrities, but Gavin Newsom, the mayor of San Francisco, and his wife Jennifer Siebel Newsom, actress, just had a baby girl named Montana Tessa Newsom. I do not approve.
