And when she shoved herself into the American Idol threads. She was just awful.

You can still see the forums using the wayback machine. Not sure what the deal is with that site - do they stay archived forever? In theory, yes. IA is non profit dedicated to archiving the internet as well as all other media. ETA: and when my twitter friends retweet Miss Alli in her new incarnation as the NPR pop culture blogger, I shudder. They don't know the shit I've seen!!!

I just finished watching the first two seasons of "Homeland" and I wanted to read what people's thoughts were on the show. So, imagine my disappointment when I realized the forums are not being archived. I never read the recaps. The TWOP forums were structured in a way that allowed me to read past posts without getting spoiled. Forums like IMDB and Reddit are not structured that way, so I avoid them.

Plus, Redditors delight in placing spoilers every place they can, even in threads that have nothing to do with the show they're spoiling. I've learned THAT to my cost.

I just checked and, from what I can tell, some of the General Gabbery, including episode-specific threads are archived on the Wayback Machine, but I don't see threads for every single episode. Here's a link to what they have. Looks like they have ep threads for most of season 2 and 3, but I didn't see anything for the first season. Hope that helps.

I don't like all the individual episode threads at previously.tv. Some shows, like The Middle or Parenthood, have a small loyal fan base and the conversation at TWOP ticked along nicely. Enough to keep it going at a steady pace, but not so girthy that missing a couple days left you hopelessly behind. Those shows had one thread and the discussion mainly focused on the most recent episode, with a bit of reference to previous ones or just general talk. The ep threads at ptv sometimes only have 4 or 5 posts. And I don't want to skip around to different threads for a character comment, or a bit of speculation. Maybe they're expecting a larger membership? There really should be a general discussion thread for each show where you can have continuous conversations about a show in addition to episode threads.

I am reading the all-seasons thread and it so great! I am sure eventually that it will dissolve into rants about how evil Dana, Carrie and Jessica are. I have never heard of Wayback Machine before. How interesting.

I dug out my MBTV beer stein to share with y'all. It seems insane that I ever felt so positive about that place. View 1View 2

OT: SGleason, that reminds me that I bought a Hissyfit t-shirt. Too bad the site closed about two weeks later.
