You can still see the forums using the wayback machine. Not sure what the deal is with that site - do they stay archived forever?

I peeked in late on Saturday night, and most of the candid reality show threads had become a big ole F you to Howard. Lots of last minute purging from people who had been banned (and made new names) over the years just because of that whack job. I hope for her sake she was at an AA meeting instead of reading all of that and frantically banning one LAST time.
Of course now I fully expect her to pop up as a mod at the new place because that's just how the universe goes! I still haven't even registered over there - it seems too confusing. Why must there be so many different topics under one thread? And I still don't like the alphabetical order. I liked to go to the candid forums and and see the shows that way instead of searching for them one by one. Anyway, it'll probably be interesting to see how much moderating ends up happening since most people seem to assume that they'll be free to do anything over there. Come on, Howard - put down the cocktail and join in (no disrespect meant to people with addiction problems - just that gal who clearly wasn't winning at life for numerous reasons)!

What is the deal with Howard and the AA thing?
I wanted to go read what everyone thought of Days last week, and now of course the previously.tv forums are down, or at least they are on my computer.

We don't really know what the deal is with Howard and AA meetings, except a lot of her modding rules came from AA meeting rules. Whether the AA rules fit the boards or not.
I've kept my book marks so far; I'm not ready to delete them. And while I know the forums are gone, my mind keeps thinking, oh I'll go to the candid reality threads...whoops, gone.
I can't imagine trying to figure out how to moderate thousands of posters. But the system they came up with drove people away. And that was their downfall. So is that hubris, or something else? Anyway, I'm not crazy about previouslytv so far, and if they get as busy as TWOP I think the modding will go off the rails.

I don't like all the individual episode threads at previously.tv.
Some shows, like The Middle or Parenthood, have a small loyal fan base and the conversation at TWOP ticked along nicely. Enough to keep it going at a steady pace, but not so girthy that missing a couple days left you hopelessly behind. Those shows had one thread and the discussion mainly focused on the most recent episode, with a bit of reference to previous ones or just general talk.
The ep threads at ptv sometimes only have 4 or 5 posts. And I don't want to skip around to different threads for a character comment, or a bit of speculation. Maybe they're expecting a larger membership?

I'm sad TWOP is gone - I have been there since the MBTV beginning - it wasn't the same after Wing/Glark/Sars left, even though Wing could be pretty uptight, to say the least.
I am, however, happy that Previously TV has a "Pixel Challenge" (called something else) in the Game Time section. Nobody else is playing though! I lost all my old Pixel Challenge pictures when we moved house and switched Comcast accounts.

ERRRGH. I thought, for some reason, they were keeping the forums archived, too. Not that I ever posted, anymore, it was just fun to see what other people had to say. (Especially when I finally catch up on seasons of some shows I haven't gotten around to just yet.)
The Previously.tv forums look like a hot mess. They should use a Proboard setup or something that doesn't look like it was cobbled together by my teenage self.

I used to have that, too!
I find myself going to Reddit (yes, I know) for episode discussions. Not nearly as good as TWoP, and there's a lot of "OH SHIT IS GONNA GET REAL NOW BRO" posts (since they've got the "live chat" format TWoP despised, and rightly so).

TWOP died the day they gave Miss Alli complete control over both The Amazing Race and Survivor. Longtime posters and people who supported the site financially were run out by her insanity.
