I was never one for the recaps, but I liked reading the forums, even if it was only to hate-read. What I liked about TWOP was that no matter how insignificant the show, you could find a good number of people discussing it and now I won't have anywhere to go for stuff like that. I'm wondering if Previously TV traffic will pick up beyond where it is now? I've looked around at some of the forums and there doesn't seem to be much going on in terms of numbers of posters or in-depth posts. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places.

That's exactly what I will miss about the site too. I have yet to find a relatively intelligent place with lots of traffic.

I mostly stayed in the candid reality show threads and a lot of the posters were complaining about the setup of previously tv. I hope they give it a chance because reading forums is the only way I can enjoy some of the stuff.

Bye TWOP. I don't know if anyone will read this but I have been coming to this site for over 10 years and I believe it was ruined by one person. I cannot tell if it is a he or a she, but it is everyone's least favorite mod, TWOPHOWARD. I really believe he/she single-handedly ruined this site. Stick to what happened on the show and ONLY what happened. No opinions, no side notes. Yeah that's fucking ridiculous. So we were supposed to only recount the show over and over? Opinions and personal feelings were why we were coming to this site! How stupid to warn adults of their behavior and ban people for bullshit. And fucking CLOSE a thread when things were not to the mod's liking? How did he/she think the advertisers were supposed to advertise with closed threads?

TWOPHOWARD ruined this site and turned many posters away. I am convinced that it is because of he/she that this site is closing. So, fuck you TWOPHOWARD.

Yes Howard was heavy handed, but that tone was set by the original crew. Long before Howard came along, I got dinged by Sars herself because I forgot a period at the end of my sentence. Because apparently a post is unreadable and no one can figure out I'm done with my thought if there is not a period at the end of a one line post. Boards on boards is bullshit and that also falls squarely on the founders shoulders. I'm not completely unconvinced Howard wasn't a pseudonym of Miss Alli, who chased more than a few posters off herself.

I've been weaned of posting on the forums long ago and now that TWOP is gone, I have no interest going anywhere else. TWOP killed the fun a long time ago.

They did set the tone but Howard cranked it up beyond 11 and started doing things even Wing on a bad day didn't do. But, yes, she was a monster they helped create. Whoever hired her and let her run unchecked deserves a kick in the balls/painful female equivalent.

Howard started out as a poster, I feel like she always went at her moderating like she had something to prove. Even if it was proving that now she was so much better than all the "lowly" posters.

Whether it was or not, Miss Alli was sufficiently unpleasant that I switch away whenever Linda Fucking Holmes appears on NPR.

I like Gael Fashingbauer Cooper* and think she should get all Linda's gigs.

Back in the days of Fametracker and early TWoP, the boards were more of a small, obscure geeky community, and the mood of the forums (the whole enterprise really) was based around the cult of personality of Wing and Sars and their webjournaling friends. (Oh my GOD I'm so old). And they complained about how pathetic it was how into them the board users were, but they encouraged it as well. Remember how in the old recaps, they'd refer to "TWoP Towers" and make sure to reference inside jokes and trips they took together? Anyway, that mindset is long gone. I don't think anyone's invested in the new staff, and even with the few holdouts, it was never the same since the site went corporate. Plus now in general, when everyone has a curated public face on social media, having a connection with a site leader isn't the same.

After the Bravo buyout (arguably starting before then even as the boards got more mainstream and obsessing over TV minutia started being respectable) that cult of personality was lost. There were a few posters from the early days, but I think they stuck to a few specific forums. Or stayed out of habit/nostalgia.

Miss Alli, I couldn't stand her. I was banned on my first screen name there because I didn't add IMHO to the end of my post. I sent her a message and told her that everything, unless it includes a link is a matter of opinion. She emailed me something like no talking smack to the mods, but she worded like I was a child.


What about Fans of Realty TV or FoRT? I started out there. I haven't been in years.

Well, shit. These last couple of weeks have been busy and I forgot it was the end of TWOP. I thought the forums were still going to be around as an archive. I never got a chance to go back and re-read my favorites.
