Someone dared to mention that the Otalia fans have eaten the GL thread and Strega was all, "OMGZ! Boards on boards!"

They closed the Hoarders thread, too. Apparently for "clean up." One of my posts was deleted -- and yes, it had nothing to do with what was on the show, but sobell's posts, most of which don't either, are still there.
I irrationally blame beezer who seems to like to pontificate in the thread when he/she isn't narc'ing on it.

The Hoarders thread was more interesting when they let the people who worked with them for a living actually express an opinion.

Hoarders thread closed for CLEAN UP! Beautiful! And after posting on TWOP for nearly 10 years- way back when they were Mighty Big TV, I just today got my first warning ever! HUZZAH! I got busted for putting spoiler tags for an episode that had already aired, but as I was typing it, my conscience compelled me to use the tags for the handful of folks who might not have seen it yet. Am I evil?.... Yes! I am!

Every once in a while, the overuse of "IMO" on TWOP bugs the crap out of me; tonight is one of those times. I just saw a post from the TMZ thread where a poster called one of the people on the show a spoiled bitch and then put in parenthesis "(IMO of course)". Stuff like that on the board just ticks me off and is a sign that this "IMO" crap gets totally out of hand. Are the posters that do this that afraid they'll get warned for stating opinion as fact? I wish I could tell them that they don't have to kowtow to the mods by adding IMO before or after every opinion they have.
If it wasn't for a couple of threads I post in, I would say "Suck it, TWOP!" and get the hell off of there; IMO ticks me off that much.

The Hoarders thread was more interesting when they let the people who worked with them for a living actually express an opinion. I actually thought that was kind of annoying, because the thread disintegrated into a question and answer session involving one particular poster. She seemed nice enough, but the conversation did veer pretty far away from the show itself. (At that time, however, only one or two episodes had aired, so there really wasn't much else to talk about.) With that said, most of the recent conversation did center on the show. I get the feeling that the mods - Strega, in particular, take a certain pleasure in shutting down threads devoted to shows that people are eager to talk about, and leaving them locked for days. It seems really condescending. Another condescending moment? The poster who suggested the show feature a miser ... and then proceeded to add the dictionary definition of miser, complete with pronunciation. I wanted to reach through the computer screen and throw a fifth grade reading book at her.

Both irritate me. Start a petition and I'll sign. (Not that anyone over there gives a shit on what anyone else has to say.)

It seems really condescending. I'll agree with that. Strega is the one that locked the Soap Dish thread saying that it's "closed for review and clean-up"; that was two weeks ago tomorrow and it's still closed. I can easily imagine her laughing like an evil genius over keeping it locked for an insane amount of time, torturing the posters that want to post in there again.

The IMO thing is annoying, but I know people have been warned for not using it. These warnings occurred when it was clear that the poster was stating an opinion, not a fact. I think it's a rule that every opinion has to be labeled "IMO", which is meant to lead to respectful, civil, discourse, but nothing else they do supports that.
