I was beginning to wonder if they'd fix the timeline for TO, too. since Caroline went to NO to find Klaus in the future, only to find that he's been MIA for quite some time it would make a lot more sense.
Plus, I'm pretty sure they're going to kick TVD to the curb with next season being the last. And it would be perfect if they just neatly tie it up and blend into TO once mid-season rolls around. Then give us Caroline (maybe Stefan?) and I'll be a happy little vampire lovah.

Hell, I want Bonnie too! Caroline, Bonnie, Enzo--I'm good. I can tolerate Stefan. If he must come. But that's about it.

Well, it's back and aired in the USA on Friday. If you haven't watched it yet, don't read on until you do. I totally loved this entire episode. Everyone was at their best in it. Ric was Indiana Jones. Caroline was Martha Stewart. Stefan and Damon were their season one selves, and best of all my precious Bonenzo is back! Poor Bonnie - she misses Enzo so much, and Enzo's little "c'mere" during that flashback was the icing on that scene's cake. Plus, Enzo reading to her by the fireplace? *sigh* I absolutely love the Odysseus theme, and that Bonnie figured it out. I also love that Enzo is fighting this as hard as he can. He got Bonnie out of danger, but when she approached him with that heartbreaking look on her face, he blanked her to keep her safe. I'm actually really excited for the next episode even if it will mean more heartbreak for my favorite ship. It seems like the creature is trying to exert more control over Enzo and Damon, and this does not bode well for their loved ones. And, I really don't like the look on Enzo's face when Little Miss Evil is touching him in next week's promo. He looks like he's taking pleasure in it, and I'll be blunt: that's Bonnie's man. Hands off, bitch! And stay away from Elena too! I can't wait for Bonnie to get her magic back and blast this hag into oblivion, and I'm only in the first episode of the season. The promo clip didn't stop me from downloading the awesome song in it though so I guess it doesn't bother me that much. Ha. A blurry spoiler on mid-season below. There is a big-time character death in mid-season, and Julie Plec said that unlike in past seasons, once the character is dead, they stay dead. Apparently, they want to explore what's happening in life on the other side a bit this season as well as whether or not people can truly be redeemed. I don't think that they'd kill off Bonnie again because that's like a Kenny from South Park situation at this point. But, I am very worried about Enzo. He is a terribly tragic character, and with Plec's like of Greek tragedies, he would be my pick for certain early death because his story so far has followed such a path. The Odysseus storyline does give me hope though because even though it took him ten years, he got back to his wife and resumed his life. Others are speculating that it's Caroline. That would upset me too because she has young children, and she is young herself!

I loved (and hated, because I just want them to be happy) all the Enzo/Bonnie stuff. All the Odysseus stuff is like icing on the cake!

I liked it, but I was confused with some of the Elena flashbacks, as I've only been watching the show for a couple of seasons. Must she dominate the show even if she's half-dead?

Trifle - I can see where you find the reason she popped up confusing (and annoying) if you haven't watched the entire series run. I can explain to a certain extent. This video also sums up what I'm saying below about his memory of Elena, if you want the shorter version. Back in season 3, Damon and Elena have a conversation about her hypothetically choosing between him and Stefan. She says that she loves Stefan and didn't just stop even if she has grown to care for Damon too. So, it would always be Stefan that she chose (Katherine said the same thing by the way - poor Damon). Elena says that maybe things would have been different if they had met first (before she met Stefan). We find out later that Damon did actually meet Elena first, but he compelled her to forget because he had a plan to get back Katherine at the time. As a result, before Elena became a vampire, she always thought that she met Stefan first. But once she became a vampire in season 4, she remembered the compulsion about that first meeting and Damon's first admission of love to Elena during season 2 while giving her a replica of the necklace that Stefan had given her (which she no longer had). Both memories push her further into Damon's arms, and of course, being a vampire changed Elena just enough for her to end up loving Damon more than Stefan. I'm neither a Delena nor a Stelena shipper. I honestly didn't care which one she went with at the time, and I think this show focused on that triangle to its detriment. Too much Elena and not enough of Bonnie and Matt as a result for one thing. Damon's memory of Elena at the end of this past episode was him remembering the first time they met. It's his go-to place when he's trying to find solace/strength to go on living and fighting. It's important to his character arc that we remember these certain things. It's kind of funny how this has all worked out. I don't know if it's just my memory, but I recall human Damon being very sweet - much nicer than Stefan, who frankly was a bit of a dick. It's why Damon's words to Stefan about him being the reason that Damon is doomed to hell for eternity stung so much. If Stefan had been a better human, neither of them would be doomed to hell (presumably) for their vampirism. Damon sacrificed for his brother as a human ( including his soul). He then proceeded to spend the next 150 years getting back at Stefan for it. IMO, his comment about it being Stefan's fault was designed to get his brother away from the creature. Same thing with his comment to Enzo about switching his humanity off. It was a warning about putting Bonnie in danger. Damon's switch is off, but as we have seen in the past, there is a tiny bit of the human still in there waiting to be rekindled. That tiny bit tried to warn both Enzo and Stefan (and didn't just immediately snap Bonnie's neck), and that tiny bit still seeks solace in Elena. I think that humanity-less Enzo is ultimately more destructive than humanity-less Damon, and it worries me for Enzo's safety. I adore Enzo, but he is without question diabolical, and unlike Damon he is not impulsive, but rather very methodical (like Stefan who is the most dangerous of them all without his humanity). This could result in a lot more people being killed including Enzo who has already committed suicide once (though our heroine, Bonnie, brought him back from the other side). More Spoilers and Speculation Bonnie makes a difficult choice in ep 3. It's being speculated that the choice is that she joins Caroline and Stefan in agreeing to put down both Enzo and Damon because they are being too destructive. The carnival ep is 5 or 6, and there seems to be a showdown of sorts because of stunt double presence on the set. It's speculated that the gang gets Enzo back at some point (well before Damon), but the price of Enzo's return is Stefan. My guess is that Little Miss Evil wants a Ripper to play with her and her insatiable bloodlust and not just boss around. I've got my own speculation going on too. There is a spoiler out about Enzo trying to tempt Bonnie to the dark side. I'm wondering if the offer will be for them to be together forever with the price being her becoming a siren because of what he said to her during the scene where he kisses her after fixing her guitar. He tells her that he'll know she'll love him forever once she plays like a siren. Maybe unintentional foreshadowing on his part?

Well, shit. Shit. Shit. Shit.
I mean, I get it. It's the last season, but COME ON. Can the writers leave Bonnie Bennett the fuck alone? I've had enough of Stefan's ridiculous humanity switch being turned off because he's ANNOYING as all get out. At leas Damon had a sort of charm about him when his was off, but Jesus H. Christ, Stefan doesn't deserve any favors at the expense of everyone else.
<sigh> Damn you, Julie Plec. Damn you and Kevin Williamson, too.

I have not really been feeling this season, so I've only half paid attention, except when my beloved Benzo was onscreen. All I can say is, they better bring him back for the finale...

Agree with both of you. I am not looking forward to Bonnie grieving AGAIN, and the only thing that has kept me watching this show is Bonenzo. I'm hoping that Bonnie's psychic blast created another dimension like Cade's created his. If so, then that's where Enzo is (not suffering), and she can get him back.
What I'd better not see is Enzo psychically helping her the rest of the season, and then telling her to move on and live her human life in the last episode. They'll meet again when she's dead (a la Jack and Rose in titanic). That would REALLY piss me off...as in I'll never watch another Plec show again pissed off. And I watched Containment!

Grrrr...I really, really hope what I wrote about above isn't true. So far, it's exactly what's happened, but we still have an episode to go. Give me Bonenzo's wedding in a church in a lavender field in France, darn it! I cried like a baby at Bonnie and Enzo dancing at the wedding. What a beautiful sequence. The way they looked at each other. "Always."
