Downton Abbey is Made. Of. Awesome.
Not that surprising considering it was written by Julian Fellowes, has a such a great cast and ridiculous production values.
Likes:
- Lord Grantham, seems like an all-around swell guy and I love that his dog follows him everywhere
- Lady Grantham, maybe not quite as nice as Lord G, but I find her being more concerned about the entail believable; nice to see Elizabeth McGovern again!
- The Dowager Countess aka Maggie Smith, if she's half as a mess as Lady Trentham we're in for a treat
- Daisy the excitable kitchen maid, so cute!
- Bates the new valet, trying his best but I think something's going on there
- Carson the butler, so sweet how highly he thinks of "his" family, sadly of course they probably never think of him
- the sweet house maid who brought Bates supper
- gays in Edwardian England, baddies or not they were there
Not Sure Yet (That's how much I liked the show, I can't say Dislikes):
- O'Brien, the lady's maid, why so evil? Is she delightfully evil or just 'die bitch, die' evil?
- Thomas the footman/valet, horrid to Bates but do has to live with being gay in Edwardian England, which is most likely to only cause misery
- Mary, daughter #1, not nice to her sister, couldn't even pretend to be sad about cousin's death, yet delighted at asshole Duke's visit
- Edith, daughter #2, not nice to her sister but does she have good reason, loved her cousin yet sadly it doesn't seem he returned her feelings
- Matthew the new heir, like his egalitarian ideas but he was such a thoughtless tool to his butler
There are three more episodes and apparently they're doing a second season! Yay!
