The Lord of the Dance, aka Twinkletoes, is back, with a new show called "Celtic Tiger". I worked with a woman who was in dance classes with him years ago when he lived on the Southwest Side of Chicago, back before he had adopted an Irish accent (hee). She said he was chubby, had brown hair, and was very impressed with himself. I guess at least some things don't change.

I came here because the name Michael Flatley rung a very, very, faint bell in the back of my mind. That dude can't seriously think he can come back, huh? He has been parodied so much!

I saw "Lord of the Dance" when it was on tour about seven or eight ago. I thought it kicked ass and was very entertaining.
I've heard Flatley is a pretty arrogant ass but then at least he does somewhat back it up by being very good at what he does. Kinda like Terrell Owens. Both arrogant asses with lots of talent.
To quote Chandler Bing "His feet move as if independent from his body!".

If you're tempted to buy the dvd of Lord of the Dance, be warned. I bought it for my boyfriend and we were so disappointed. It's what I think you call "over-produced." Crazy camera angles, cut-aways in all the wrong places, hideous and distracting lighting... The worst thing was that when the dancers would prepare to do dramatic leaps it would suddenly go to slow motion or else cut to an angle where you just couldn't appreciate what they were doing.
Whatever happened to the tall red-head that was in Riverdance with him? She looked like she was his match.

The redhead is Jean Butler or as I always called her the Nicole Kidman that actually dances.

He's such a noddy. Conceited, arrogant little dwarf man. My gran used to love him.

I read a really great article in the Chicago Tribune once about bad art that had redeeming qualities, and Michael Flately was one example of that. I always thought that a pretty on-the-nose assessment.

Is he still wearing that goddamned headband? Remember when he performed at the Oscars several years ago? Scary.
