I'm sure everyone has heard that she is engaged to Derek Whibley (sp?), her boyfriend and Sum 41 band member. It's funny to me because Paris (the ho) used to date him. Everyone is engaged these days, it seems.

For some reason, Avril seems really immature. I'm always seeing wasted paparazzi photos of her (I mean, nothing wrong with having some drinks, but I feel like these are the only kinds of pics I see of her). I remember hearing awhile back that she was having problems with drinking and her friends are concerned about her. I know that people of all ages get married, and I have nothing against that, but she just seems too immature to get married, IMO.

I think that's because she was noted in articles as being seventeen for such a long time. Her age didn't seem to change until sometime last year.

It's so fucking tedious when people go on about the wannabe punk thing. I found it very odd how all these thirty something punk fetishists got so much pleasure from ragging on a seventeen year old girl back in 2002. I mean really, who fucking cares. Punk hasn't been a relevant movement for oh, thirty years. The whole nature and point of punk was that it was short term. That whole dick measuring 'more punk than you' attitude seriously rubbed me up the wrong way. Not that Avril wasn't/isn't annoying and obnoxious, but ugh- seriously, if Avril wanted to think she was a punk, let her think it, it's just not important.

I used to think she was ugly and looked like a rat, but I've grown to really appreciate how unusually pretty she is. She's quite charismatic in an odd way, and I think she makes good rock pop. My Happy Ending is a very good song.
