You'd think Robert Zemeckis would've learned his lesson after Polar Express. The animation is more sophisticated, but it's creepy because the characters look so similar to their real life counterparts - it's like watching Real Doll Theatre.

THANK YOU! What is the point of all that? Are they just looking to spend as much money as possible. Yes, it's sort of cool that they look like humans, but actual humans look even more like humans!

It still just looks like shitty CGI. What's the point? And the 13th Warrior's Beowulf was way hotter. They should bring back that guy. /shallow

Angelina Jolie's accent sounds like the Freud impersonation or whatever it was she did in Girl, Interrupted. "Ze fabulous Doktor ****!"

What the hell is Zemeckis trying to prove? CGI'd humans is the dumbest idea in the history of film. He wants the human actors to be CGI'd into looking like inhuman creepyness? WTF?

Here's the red band trailer for Beowulf. Damn, Angie gets nekkid even in her cartoons! There's talk that there will be two versions of this movie -- PG-13 for regular theatres and an R or even NC-17 for the IMAX crowd.

And really, if they're gonna look the same as the actors portraying them (it wasn't even cute when Shark Tale did it by anthromorphising the fish to resemble their voice actors), then why bother with CG? Why not do it in live action to begin with?

I'll probably give this one a miss and watch Final Fantasy: Advent Children again instead...
