Has anyone seen Fanaa yet? I love Aamir but my last chance to see it on screen is at a theatre about 2 hours away, which is a trip I'd willingly make but...if it's more of a DVD event, I'll stay in and do homework.

Definitely a DVD event, IMHO. The storyline was full of cliches, Aamir was valiantly struggling through the incredibly stupid dialogues. Kajol was very good in this one..

I've seen Fanaa called a super-hit; I'm happy for Aamir and Kajol (career after marriage!) but it's a bit of a shame they couldn't star in a better film. I'm dreading this. Not because it's Bollywood doing Othello, but because it stars Kareena in the Desdemona role. They're remaking Don too, with SRK, Priyanka, Kareena and Om Puri.

Oh, sigh...I liked Ajay Devgan in Bhoot. But Kareena? My eyes are rolling so hard I think I turned into a slot machine. Couldn't anyone have been cast?
However, I will park my tail as soon as it comes out. I don't want to wait until November.

Dag! Bollywood thread, do stop falling so far down. I actually came here to post about Akshaye Kumar--hot or not?--but then I remembered that Omkara, aka The Bollywood Othello [/color] is coming out this weekend. I am rather excited, even though my Saif Ali Khan crush was stifled. I really like Naseeruddin Shah, and I've only seen Kareena in Asoka, and she was okay-ish. Not the reputed Queen of the Bollywood Close Up, but still. So? Is anyone else going to see it? ETA: !!!FANGIRLY SCREAM!!! I forgot about Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna! Sharukh, Amitabh, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta and, I'm dizzy with gurgling lust, Abhishek. And Javed Akhtar lyrics. Swooning, distractedly.

Why has no one mentioned Akshaye Khanna? I think he's so sexy and seems to have a naturalness and effortless coolness to him that other Bollywood male stars seem to lack, i find Amir and Sharukh Khan et al so corny and cheesy.
I LOVED him in Dil Chahta He as Sid. (Btw, all these mentions of Devdas - i haven't seen it yet, but i thought it was Akshaye Khanna in that with Ashwariya, not Sharukh?)
IRL meeting, they were filmimg a Bollywood movie near my flat, and i heard that the male star was Akshaye - i shot into the shower, dressed to the nines and came out to watch filming...only to find out it was Akshaye Kumar and not Khanna. Deflated and went to do some shopping in my high heeled sandals instead, and came back with whopping blisters and those mofos are not meant to be walked in!

This thread inspired me to do a little searching on YouTube...and my god, Madhuri Dixit is easily the must gorgeous woman I have ever seen. I know Aishwarya Rai is supposed to be the most beautiful woman on earth but...it's no contest, IMO.

I've always felt meh on Aishwarya Rai - yes she's got great features, but they miss a certain something that makes me marvel at the overall prduct at how pretty it is, they way i did say for Manisha Korela (?) in Dil Se and Preity Zinta. If i was a guy i cd fall half in love with them based just on those faces, but with Ash i'd be able to keep the beauty in perspective if u know what i mean?

I've been looking at old Madhuri stuff lately and while I do think Aishwarya is the most beautiful woman alive, Madhuri is the sexiest. There's something just so vibrant about her and I love how playful she can be. Shah Rukh was in Devdas, and he was quite dull next to Aishwarya's prettiness and Madhuri's charm.
