I haven't seen it yet (but want to) but I would think that a big negative against ZD30 and Bigelow is that she and her movie won Best Picture/Director just three years ago. It's funny, I've seen that reason given a lot for Bigelow in the media yet no says that about Tom Hooper who may very well win best picture/ director for Les Mis only a couple of years after winning for The King's Speech. After seeing Les Mis I wouldn't be too upset if it wins best picture. I think there are better movies out there but for an awards baiting , crowd pleasing movie it does its job. However I would be annoyed if it wins best director as the direction was really distracting. It was a good movie in spite of it. It could have been a great movie with a competent director. I actually don't think either Hooper or Bigelow will win best director. I see Speilberg getting it for Lincoln. But Lincoln losing out to Les Mis for best picture.

Yeah, I can see that happening too.
Hugh Jackman is a lock now for the Best Actor in a Comedy/Musical Golden Globe now, right? His only competition in that category is Bradley Cooper and somehow, I just don't see Cooper winning.

I think a split between best picture and best director is all but guaranteed. Either Spielberg for director and "Zero Dark Thirty" for picture or Bigelow for director and "Lincoln" for picture. Best actor and actress could well be similarly split - with one for each flick and Anne Hathaway as the major win for Les Mis.

I just couldn't get into Silver Lining Playbook. At all. I could see Bradley Cooper winning at the Globes, but it will probably go to Jackman (and I thought he was meh). I loved ZD30. Loved it. Loved Lincoln & DDL. I liked Sally Field better than Anne Hathaway.... It's all such a crap shoot. I'm so jaded after spending almost a decade in LA. I'm convinced the winners will be determined by who has the best PR campaign, and who's willing to whore themselves out the most. Not by who's performance will stand the test of time.

I really don't think Les Mis will get best Picture or Directing. The directing was the worst thing about it - boring tight shots constantly.
I haven't seen Zero Dark Thirty or Silver Linings Playbook, but I'd expect Lincoln over Les Mis in both those categories.

I think Zero Dark Thirty and Lincoln will be the big winners. Hathaway will be the only thing Les Miz gets.

ZDT will take Picture/Director/Screenplay and Actress, I think (and hope). If Jessica Chastain loses to Jennifer Lawrence, I'll vomit.
Also, I wish Joel Edgerton were more of a possibility for best actor so ZDT could sweep the big five. It's good enough to do so.

I'm thrilled that Beasts of the Southern Wild has been getting some acting, directing, and score love from these smaller awards. I wonder if any of them have a shot at an Oscar nom...

I’ll toss this out there – it’s going to be one of those years without a big winner, prizes going to all kinds of movies. Pic to ZD30, actor to Lincoln (DDL), director to Argo/Affleck (shock win of the night), actress to Silver Linings Playbook (Lawrence), supporting actress to Les Miz (Hathaway) and supporting actor to yet something else (Django maybe?).

Supporting Actor is a toss-up, I'm thinking maybe Tommy Lee Jones or Christoph Waltz.
