I think someone did that to the song in "Mannequin," "Do You Dream About Me." I downloaded it awhile back, and the sound quality is bad, but that doesn't mean I don't rock out to it in the car. (It's the song playing when they're dancing around the store in all of the different outfits.) I might be able to find that for you. It's by Alisha and she recorded it on her (now Out of Print) CD, NightWalkin'. She has it up on her Official MySpace Fan site. At least it would have to be in better quality, right?

Any love here for Short Circuit and its sequel? Those movies were hits with my family when we were little. I haven't seen it in years, so I had no idea that the venerable Steve Guttenberg was supported by 80s stars Ally Sheedy and Fisher Stevens (as an Indian dude!). I just thought that Johnny 5 was the awesomest.

We loved Short Circuit in my family because it was partly filmed in Astoria, Oregon where my dad grew up. The Goonies got love for the same reason.

Why can't I stay out of this thread?
The best thing about Short Circuit is the song "Who's Johnny" and the music video, complete with clips of the movie, a courtroom scene with El Debarge standing trial, a cameo by Ally Sheedy acting like a goon, and a cardboard standie of Steve Guttenberg.

Why can't I stay out of this thread? Because it haunts you like those photos of you with bangs as high as the ceiling! Squeeeee! This song is such a guilty pleasure. They showed it on VH1 Classics (an entire channel dedicated to 80s videos. Hooray!) a couple weeks ago and while I was rocking out to it, Mr. Spin started to slowly back away.

Why can't I stay out of this thread? Because we're all around the same age, I presume, and we have good memories of these films. Let me throw in a cheesy 80's film and a highly acclaimed 80's film: The cheesy one is D.C. Cab starring Mr. T, Adam Baldwin, Bill Maher, Paul Rodriguez, and the late Charlie Barnett. I was in school around the time they were filming it. TBTH, the film sucked but I watch it every time it's on TV. The highly acclaimed film I'm about to mention was the movie that turned me into a fan of Pedro Almodovar: Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, which introduced American audiences to Antonio Banderas. I still think it's one of the funniest movies of all time.

80s movies definitely have good soundtracks. While I may not remember the movie or plot, but some of the songs? Oh hell yeah.

Fire with Fire was a great movie. I used to watch it in my room by myself because I'd get embarrassed to watch it with the fam since 80s flicks always had some steamy love scene. *blushes*
I think I need to rent me some of these that I haven't seen in awhile.

Crossing Delancy is another fave. Wish I could find it on DVD over here. Amy Irving is really great...loved her Bubbie and Peter Riegert as the Pickle man is soooo cute.

Does anybody remember the movie "Heaven Help Us" with Andrew McCarthy and Mary Stuart Masterson? Man, I remember watching that movie over and over. I fell hard for John Heard's character in the flick.
