Does anyone know if there are plans to release the entire series in one set? I never bought Season 1, because I wanted a complete set that included the Pilot. I want to buy Season 2, but am going to be pissed if a full-series set comes out later this year.
What are the extras like on the S2 set?
How's Annie?

As I mentioned in the Inland Empire thread, there are plans for a superbox set of TP, Seasons 1 and 2, including the pilot and extra disc(s), but no release date has been floated. Good luck finding Season 1 now, anyway, for less than a hundred bucks. I look at it this way: I'm glad I have the Season 1 I do, because the interface for S2 is not nearly as cool, even though the (very few) interviews are more conventional and easier to find. Who knows whether the new Season 1 will have all the goodies. The Season 2 transfers are markedly better, by the way. Anyway, should you get Season 2 now? If you divide $45 by the six discs, you'll get at least six months of pleasure for 8 bucks apiece. If you decide to pop for the whole set later, you can always sell the set you buy now for twenty bucks at a used-DVD store. Don't waste that money on blow, get the set

This is exactly the kind of money-spending rationalization I was looking for. Just ordered from Amazon.com. Thanks guys! I'm mad at myself for not just buying Season 1 when it was out. At the time, I didn't know it would be out-of-print within a few years, like a friggin' Disney DVD. Except...not Disney.

It's often much cheaper to buy from Amazon US, even with exchange and shipping. It ships from this side of the border, so no customs or anything. (Then again, I bought TP1 a couple of years ago for Christmas from amazon.ca. Yay me.)

Y'know, I really need to investigate the dot-com v. dot-ca thing more often. (I mean, I do, but mostly just to rail at the inequity).
I've slogged through all of the extras on the TP2 DVDs and they're good, not great. The "Interactive Grid" is a big sham -- just choose "PLAY ALL" for a better experience with the cast flashbacks. I was really struck by how truly gorgeous some of the cast was (and still is). Sherilyn Fenn is an interesting actor, a steel-cut beauty and perhaps successor to Sharon Stone's aggressive style. Mädchen Amick is still stunning. Lenny van Dohlen and Dana Ashbrook are... kind of hotter now than they ever were. In fact, quite a few of the performers have grown into their age quite nicely. (Admittedly, not so much for others).
It's good to have this set out. Now, if only a Special Edition of TP:FWWM can be assembled. I shall be a very happy obsessive fan.

Goodbye, money! ;D Actually, that price is much better than I was anticipating. Love that the extras include the SNL skit!

And a complete X-Files box comes out a week later. The DVD gods must know it's my friend's birthday.
There's apparently a major kerfuffle going on between the Blu-Ray and the HD-DVD groups, to which I say the studios should've gotten the fuck over themselves and opted for a single format.
