Ooh, I'm so glad to see that people love Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! and Troop Beverly Hills as much as I do. I also love America's Sweethearts, because I, too, like to imagine what the behind-the-scenes must've been like.
I'd like to add Teen Witch to this list. It has 80's clothes and hair. It has nerdie-gone-hotty. It has a teenage girl becoming a witch. And most of all, it has a romantic choreographed dance at the end! What's not to love?
Someone up thread mentioned Mannequin, and I'd like to suggest its sequel, Mannequin 2: On the Move. I love this movie, so much better than the first one. I think it may be because of Williams Ragsdale, whom I adore for being in Herman's Head and Fright Night.
Speaking of Fright Night it also belongs here and is one of my favorite horror movies. Chris Sarandon can so bite me anytime!

Josie and the Pussycats. My niece and nephew love this film, too, so I have watched it many times. Comedy gold. The scene at the beginning with the boyband, Du Jour? Bloody hilarious. ;D From Dusk Till Dawn. Also the 2 sequels. The 1 sequel and a prequel. Whatever. Campy (but still gory) vampire goodness.

Count me in on the Grease 2 love. I loved it when Kelly Osborne went through her Paulette stage.
My other favorites are the Elvis movies. Blue Hawaii, Viva Las Vegas, Fun in Alcapulco, GI Blues. The singing! The dancing! The cheesy love interests (except for the awesome Ann Margaret and Ursula Andress)! I could watch them all day.

So did I, TamaraDixon. I remember listening to that album while I played with Barbies. Paul Williams is brilliant. I fangirled all over him once when I saw him at an antique show. I even started singing stuff from POTP and from - wait for it, you know what's coming - Bugsy Malone (about this film, see my comment above re: Streets of Fire). The poor man was clearly appalled but was nice enough to tell me I was singing in the right key. Hilarious! I bet he gets that all the time. I met him once too, but couldn't muster up more than a pathetic 'could I have your autograph?'. He was very nice, but I think a bit drunk or high. He kissed me and it sorta skeeved out my 14 year old self. Streets of Fire is a fantastic film. Thanks for reminding me! I've just added it to my Xmas list (along with Phantom of the Paradise on dvd).

A few years ago, I could probably have quoted Blue Hawaii from start to finish. Hmm, it's been ages since I watched it, must rectify that. ;D

Does Weekend at Bernies count? Because that movie just sounds incredibly stupid on paper, but it worked on film. So funny!

Yes! I am contemplating its purchase as we speak. I have never seen any of the others, though Bruce Springsteen's sister as Angela seems very enticing. I love that movie shamefully. Did you know there's a super special DVD set?

A huge rotation of Elvis movies helped me get through a bad breakup back in '88! Also count me in on the Mannequin and Weekend At Bernie's love! As I go through this thread, there are more campy films I love that you guys are reminding me of - Anaconda and From Dusk Till Dawn and Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?. Of course, if you guys know me and my serious Tommy Lee Jones love, you have to know that Eyes of Laura Mars tops my list!

Whatever happened to Michael [from Grease II]? I used to think he was so cute. I know this is from a couple of days ago, but he's currently married to the woman who plays Tabitha on Passions (who is also Hayley Mill's sister). And he was in Empire Records as Rex Manning a few years ago, and a music video more recently. Josie and the Pussycats was the second DVD I bought (right after, um... Xanadu). Du Jour means seatbelts! Du Jour means crash positions!
