I know this is silly but Corpse Bride made me teary. The bride had such hope in her heart and then was killed.

I finally watched United 93. I'm not someone who cries at movies. Even The Notebook only got me slightly misty. I don't know, maybe I just needed a good cry, but I absolutely lost it. Twice. I had to pause it and go get a hold of myself. I can understand why people complain that it's too soon for a movie like this, but I thought it was outstanding. To calm myself down, I think that Jamie Harding, who played one of the terrorists is really hot. So is Lewis Alsamari. And they'll probably never be heard from again because of the roles they played in this movie. At least not in the US. That's too bad, because I thought they were both excellent actors.

I watched What's Eating Gilbert Grape the other day (for the 254th time or so). And I practically sobbed during the scene when Arnie tries to wake up the mother and then realizes that she is dead. Seriously, that's one of the most heart-breaking scenes I've ever seen in a film.

I'm watching A Little Princess right now and god damn, every single thing in this movie makes me cry. I don't know if I can handle the scene when she finally finds out her blind father has been living next door and he doesn't remember or see her and the police are dragging her away. Even as a kid that scene was terrifyingly sad to me. I mean I know it all ends well but still. "PAPAAAAAAA!"

I know I initially posted months ago about some of the ones that make me cry (Lion King, Sense and Sensibility, Toy Story 2), but I cry during every movie, so here are a few more:
It's a Wonderful Life: This is the ultimate one for me. This is the one where I start crying at the beginning when they're all praying for him, and I don't stop crying until the very end when the whole town is singing "Auld Lang Syne". From start to finish. A few of the parts that get me every single time:
"Is this the ear you can't hear out of? George Bailey, I'll love you till the day I die."
"Harry Bailey was a hero! He saved the lives of every man on that transport." "Every man on that transport died! Harry wasn't around to save them, because you weren't around to save Harry."
I think that's the part that really resonates with me. I know, the general theme is how each man's life touches so many that he doesn't even realize it. But that part, in the cemetary. This isn't just about his wife, kids and friends anymore. This has now stretched out to an entire transport full of soldiers, who all died because of a man they never met, a man not even fighting in the war. I just get goosebumps when I think about it.
Gone With the Wind: Melanie's dying words to Scarlett - "Captain Butler.... be kind to him. He loves you so." As Scarlett points out to Rhett in their final scene, right up until her last breath, Melanie only thought of other people. Also, Mammy's scene with Melanie, where she's telling Melanie about what's been going on between Rhett and Scarlett since Bonnie died absolutely kills me. Just the force of Hattie McDaniel's sobbing is heartbreaking. "It makes my blood turn cold, to hear the way those two talk to each other." Just gutwrenching.
Little Miss Sunshine: "Please don't kill yourself tonight" "Not on your watch. I would never do that to you."
And I know alot of people said they got misty over "Grandpa, am I pretty?", which did make me teary. But the question that Olive poses that just gets me is, "Miss California? Do you eat ice cream?" Just gets me every time. And it makes you think back to the scene in the diner when her father made her feel so worthless and guilty for just being a little girl who'd like some ice cream.

Phenomenon made me cry - at the end, when the whole town still celebrates John Travolta's character's birthday.
Also, I was a wreck during Platoon, when the helicopter takes off and Willem Dafoe is too late to catch it....nooooo!
Splendor in the Grass with Natalie Wood and Warren Beatty - a couple torn apart, then they each separately give up on happiness. Argh!

I don't know if anyone remembers this movie but I bawl like a baby whenever I watch Savannah Smiles. When she returns to her parents and has to say goodbye to Bootsie? Man, it just kills me.
The Color Purple: "See Daddy, even sinners have soul." I just lose it every single time.
