I just caught the end of Cool Runnings today and I forgot how I always cry at the end until the tears started coming.

Im just watching The Sound of Music. Pretty much half teh movie makes me sob - the Captain proposing to Maria, gets me everytime. But the heaving sobs come when they sing Edelweiss at the concert and the Captains voice breaks..and Maria and the children give up thier chance to escape safely to come onstage and support him.

On the WWII-related weepies, I always tear up during Casablanca when the patrons of Rick's all stand up and start singing La Marseillaise to drown out the sound of German solidiers singing a Nazi anthem.
Ordinarily, I think patriotism is a vastly over-rated virtue, and overt displays of nationalism tend to make me nervous. In fact, I'm not even especially fond of the movie as a whole, but that scene? Gets me every single time.

While the movie in its entirety is hit and miss, I cry every time I watch Emma Thompson's character in Love Actually open the gift from her husband, expecting the necklace but receiving the Joni Mitchell cd. Then she excuses herself for a moment, goes into the bedroom and cries because she realizes that the jewelry is for another woman. And while she's crying, "Both Sides Now" is playing.

Ok, good, then I'm not the only one. TC: I teared up just thinking about that. What the hell?
Also, word on the Emma Thompson/Joni Mitchell CD scene. And the scene where she confronts her husband. "You've made a fool out of me, and you've made the life I lead foolish too." *Sob*

I'm not a big crier (especially in front of other people), but the one movie that always gets me is Shadowlands. I watched it with a friend (also not a crier) and thought it would be fine because we'd both seen it before, but we were both wracked with sobs by the end.

Anything involving any harm on animals, animated or otherwise, gets to me.
And with that, I'd like to mention "The Three Lives of Thomasina."

Yeah, I was just watching "Little Miss Sunshine" with my husband, and we got to the part at the end where Olive dedicates the song to her grandfather because he taught her the moves. Then she proceeds to strip to "Superfreak". I laughed my ass off for about thirty seconds, and then started bawling (well before her family got up to dance with her) and cried solidly for the next ten minutes.
My husband thinks I'm insane.

Amen to that. God knows it gets me every time when the little girl tells Charlie, "I Love you Charlie".
